Was kinda scared with some of the reviews but they were easy to set up. Even with only a 5ghz connection. Works great with Alexa and Google. The only reason I didn't rate 5 was because the app could be a bit more user friendly.

  • Installation nightmare but here is what I did
Color: 2 Pack
I've noticed the reviews seem to have the same issue, installation. Download the Smart Life app. If your internet is not running on 2.4, download the app for your internet. There should be a picture of your router which you will select and you will see a pencil in the upper right hand corner (xfinity, but I imagine you will see something similar contact your company) select the pencil and there should be an option box to prompt the separation of your wifi 2.4 and 5.00. I added a number to the 5.00 username and added a special character to the 5.0 password so that the connections were completely separate. You can run computers on the 5.0 as it is faster and use the "new" user ID and password to sign your computers/gaming consoles in. Your phone should still be logged into the old user name and password wifi which will now just be the 2.4. The smart life app has several types of lighting to choose from and I wasn't sure which one to use. I tried several such as ceiling fan and ceiling light with no luck. Finally I selected the "light source" (wifi), it is just a picture of a regular bulb. Mine is in the top row, the middle bulb with "wifi" under the picture, not sure if everyone has the same view. You will have to set up each bulb individually. I found it easiest to put every bulb in place but unscrewed all but the one I was currently working on and then once it was set up, unscrewed it and screwed in the next...Flip the light switch four or so times taking a couple of seconds between each flip until the screwed in bulb flickers quickly. Make sure you have used your 2.4 wifi login in the smart life app and select confirmation button that the light is flickering and then the continue button. The bulb will stop flickering as the set up begins. I though it had to continue to flicker to work but it is fine. It goes pretty quickly then but make take a minute and once it's done just select done. If you have already enabled Alexa for the task she will automatically recognize that you have installed a new bulb. Then you can go in and group them but I am still trying to figure out how to run them at once, I currently have to change the colors individually. If a bulb stops working or starts flickering don't give up, happened to me. Unscrew it and screw back in, may have to do a couple of times. Unscrew any other bulbs in that light fixture and just run the set up again for any bulb having an issue. If you have named the bulb it will still have the new name once you reset it, you won't have to do that again. Good luck and don't give up. Once you figure it out it goes fairly fast and they do look nice. I hope these instructions were clear enough. Fun for Halloween. ... show more

  • A Hilarious Journey of Illumination
Color: 2 Pack
Once upon a time, in the land of home automation, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect LED candelabra bulbs. My mission was to light up my chandelier with smart bulbs that were not only dimmable but also had color-changing capabilities. After much research, I stumbled upon the Dogain LED Candelabra Bulbs, and little did I know the adventure that awaited me. With high hopes and a sprinkle of excitement, I eagerly ordered the 2-pack of Dogain LED Candelabra Bulbs. The bulbs arrived promptly, and I couldn't wait to transform my chandelier into a mesmerizing light show. However, as the saying goes, "Expect the unexpected." I unscrewed the old incandescent bulbs from my chandelier and carefully twisted in the Dogain LED bulbs. The first magical moment occurred as the bulbs turned on with a soft glow, like a warm smile spreading across the room. I connected them to my smart home assistant, Alexa, and Google Home, excited to explore their full potential. Initially, everything seemed flawless. I could effortlessly control the brightness and adjust the white light temperature to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion. The bulbs performed admirably, bringing elegance and charm to my chandelier. It was like having a tiny disco ball dangling above my dining table. However, one fateful evening, during a cozy dinner with friends, the bulbs decided to unleash their mischievous side. As we were discussing our day's adventures, the bulbs suddenly flickered and changed colors, casting an eerie glow upon us. Amidst laughter and confusion, we realized that the Dogain LED bulbs had a mind of their own. They were determined to turn our gathering into a psychedelic disco party! As I fumbled to regain control over the bulbs, we found ourselves immersed in a bizarre light symphony. Colors changed with each passing second, casting a rainbow of hues across the room. It was as if we had stumbled into a parallel universe where the laws of lighting were delightfully warped. While my friends found the unexpected light show amusing, I couldn't help but feel a hint of frustration. The bulbs' rebellious behavior, though comical, sometimes disrupted the desired mood. It seemed that they were more interested in entertaining us than providing consistent illumination. Nonetheless, the Dogain LED bulbs did have their redeeming qualities. When they decided to behave, the color-changing feature added a touch of whimsy to my living space. They transformed movie nights into cinematic experiences, turning my home into a mini theater. The dimming functionality also came in handy during late-night conversations, creating an intimate ambiance that encouraged heartfelt discussions. However, there were moments when the bulbs misunderstood my intentions entirely. I would ask them to dim to 50%, and they would respond with a burst of disco colors instead. It became a humorous game of trial and error, as I attempted to decode their ever-surprising responses. The bulbs seemed to possess a secret sense of humor, challenging me to master the art of smart lighting. With time, I learned to appreciate the Dogain LED Candelabra Bulbs for their unpredictability. They became an unexpected source of entertainment and a conversation starter when guests visited. We would all eagerly await the bulbs' next performance, wondering what light show they had in store for us. In conclusion, the Dogain LED Candelabra Bulbs provided a rollercoaster ride of illumination. Their color-changing and dimmable capabilities created a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere, turning everyday moments into extraordinary experiences. While their mischievous nature occasionally disrupted the desired ambiance, the bulbs added an element of surprise and laughter to my life. If you're ready to embark on an illuminating adventure, embracing both the joy and occasional chaos that come with it, the Dogain LED Candelabra Bulbs are the perfect choice. Just be prepared for unexpected disco nights and let your imagination run wild. After all, life is brighter when it's filled with a touch of humor and colorful light displays. ... show more

  • Monumental pain to set up if you don't have 2.4 GHz wireless but quick once you get past that hurdle
Color: 4 Pack
In the product description, the only thing it said was the following: "WHAT YOU NEED is just 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi and a smart phone to install the suggested APP- Smart Life." What it DOESN'T say is that it will ONLY work on a 2.4 GHz frequency. My ISP's router offers dual band frequency - 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Because my cell phone, which is required for set up, connects to my WiFi at 5 GHz, it was physically impossible to set everything up. I couldn't even get the app to recognize the light bulbs. A device will only connect to my router at 2.4 GHz if it's a 2.4 GHz device. I couldn't get it to connect to the 2.4 GHz channel only. It kept bumping itself up to the 5 GHz channel for a better, faster connection. I was mere minutes away from leaving to return this item at the UPS store when I thought about trying to connect an old, 2.4 GHz (ONLY) router to my ISP's router as an AP and connect that way. While I am confident that would still work, while I was checking out the information in my router's firmware, I realized the Guest account that my router provides for guests to connect to without requiring me to give out my WiFi password broadcasts at ONLY 2.4 GHz. So, after 2 hrs fiddling with it last night and another hour this morning, I enabled the guest account, switched my cell phone over to that WiFi network, and then tried it again, bam! 30 seconds later I was up and running! I then had to switch my Echo over to the guest account as well so that they were both on the same network, but it was only connecting at 2.4 GHz anyway. No loss there. If I were this seller, I would put MUCH clearer, more concise information in the product description and say that these lights will ONLY work on a 2.4 GHz network, not something as ambiguous as all you need "is just 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi and a smart phone". To me, and I'm sure many others, that implies that a 2.4 GHz network (which is outdated and not really the standard anymore) is the minimum requirement and that the standard, more widely used 5 GHz network that pretty much everybody connects to would still work since almost all devices, except these bulbs, for example, are backwards compatible. You may also want to include something about some technical/networking expertise may be required. OOOORRRR you can nip it ALL in the bud and join the rest of us here in the year 2020 and upgrade these bad boys to work on either a 2.4 or 5 GHz network. Easy! If I were a buyer, and BEFORE purchasing these light bulbs, I would find out more information about your WiFi network FIRST. If I had known what a huge pain in the butt it would have been to set up, I may have gone a different route. If you aren't computer savvy, find a friend who is and they can easily figure it out. All that being said, now that I have the lights up and running and working with my Echo, I am definitely satisfied and happy. They work perfectly and as expected. They were super white colored light right out of the box, but once I tuned them to a softer, more yellow, less doctor's office feel, they work beautifully. I am hoping some of the other reviews people have left about them not lasting much longer than a few months is nothing more than a fluke and not the standard, but only time (and perhaps an updated review) will tell. Thanks for the same day delivery and the perfectly working (albeit nightmare of a setup) lights! ... show more

Color: 4 Pack
As I tried installing these bulbs (I'm using the Treatlife app, which is just one of many TUYA clones), the first one went without a hitch, but the next three failed multiple times. After a lot of frustration, I checked my router settings and realized I had only allowed 50 IP addresses to connect. While that was once more than enough, we've added so many smart devices to our home, we used them all up. For the past few weeks, we noticed that some devices were getting bumped because IP addresses were being snatched from dormant devices to use for active ones. I increased the IP range to 100 devices and all four bulbs connected quickly and without a hitch. These went into a ceiling fan, so I had to synchronize all four to operate as one. For ease of pairing, I started by using a nightlight fixture, as others suggested, so I didn't have to climb a step ladder. The nightlight fixture wasn't a good fit for the base of the bulbs and none of them powered on, so I had to bust out the step ladder and use the ceiling fan. Once you're on the ladder, I recommend just keeping the wall switch on and using the chain pull to put bulbs in pairing mode one at a time. Once you get them all connected, you can click on any one of them in the app. In the screen where you set color and brightness is an option to create a group. Add all four bulbs to one group so they can be controlled together in the app. I called my group "Ceiling Fan Light." Now you can control all four in unison, but only from the App. You cannot yet use Alexa. Now, go into your Alexa app. Create a group and add all four bulbs from the device list. Again, I called mine "Ceiling fan light." Enable the appropriate Alexa skill for whatever app you're using (Smart Life, Tuya, Treatlife, etc). You should now be able to leave the light switch on permanently and ask Alexa to "turn on the Ceiling Fan Light." You can also ask for Alexa to change the brightness or colors. Pretty pleased so far, but only one day into the experience. ... show more

  • Super cool enhancement for kid’s room
Color: 2 Pack
Let me cut to the chase: I got this for my daughter’s bedroom and she Loves it. She has a Google mini speaker and it works well with it. She is able to change colors and brightness by voice command. So if you are looking for an easy upgrade to a child’s room then it does the job well. Since the lights were going into a light fixture in the ceiling fan, I used a lamp which has the same candle bra bulb type for setup. This definitely makes pairing and troubleshooting easier. I setup the lamps using app recommended by manufacturer (Smart Life) but use Google Mini for all controls. Challenges: it took some finagling to get the lights paired with the app. As per instructions, “Easy Method” is to have the lights blinking which indicates pairing mode. Only one bulb out of 2 (I bought a 2-pack) was setup like this out of box. Instructions indicated to turn ON and OFF few times in a row to reset the bulb and initiate pairing. Well, it didn’t seemed to work. I focused on the one which was blinking and got it paired to home WiFi without much issue. I then went back to the bulb which was not blinking and tried the “AP” method which required me to connect my iPhone to the local WiFi connection of the bulb and initiate pairing. Hmmm ... my phone failed to connect directly. I then tried the Easy Method again and tried to turn on and off few times and Behold the bulb started blinking again. After that the pairing went smoothly. Both the bulbs are installed inside the light fixture. They seem to be a bit dim to me but my kiddo loves it. And I think that matters the most. 😎 ... show more

  • Works with Alexa.
Color: 2 Pack
I bought these to go with my son's Echo. I found out I had the wrong wireless connection. You wireless internet needs to be on 2.4gz and mine was on 5ghz but I was able to go into my comcast app and turn on both the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz options and connect the lights to the 2.4ghz. I was super close to sending this back because it wasn't working with my internet but I was able to figure out pretty quickly. Downloading the app was easy, then I had to switch the light switch on and off 3 times until the lights started to blink. Then they blink the whole time it takes to connect the lights to the app which was around 5 minutes. Once the lights are connected to the app then it was easy to connect them to the echo and put them in a group on the echo so they would turn off and on at the same time. The lights can dim and change colors. My son loves telling Alexa to turn the lights different colors. There is also preset scenes that you can change you lights to in the app. You can also put your lights on a schedule on the app as well. When school starts I am going to have the lights turn on at 7am to wake my son up for school. It was easy to put a schedule in. Overall, this work well so far. ... show more

  • Note: Can program in one fixture and move to another
Color: 4 Pack
I have put these lights outside although they are recommended for inside. I wanted to be able to have decorative lighting on my light post, etc. I am glad I read reviews, and knew I needed to use the 2.4 wifi. I installed the bulbs outside, but when I tried to add them to "Smart Life" app, it wasn't going real well, possibly because each fixture had two or three bulbs. So I took the bulbs inside and programmed them one at a time using a night light base. After programming them individually, I created a group, and then took them outside to install. I am finding that they do not reliably connect to wifi outside, probably due to distance and walls. Not a huge issue because the bulbs retain the color I have programmed. I am not using the scheduling function. I really just wanted the ability to have colored lights outside at my whim. I don't know how they will hold up as the weather gets colder. Using them outside is my little rebellion against a HOA that restricts use of holiday lights, and this is a little work-around. I'm hopeful these will serve my purpose. UPDATE OCT 31: I've had these for nearly 2 weeks. Not 100% thrilled. I have 10 bulbs. • I experience random connection issues, specifically with two of the bulbs. (I have labelled all bulbs so I know exactly which ones are the problems.) This does not appear to be range-related. Rather, wherever I move those particular bulbs, they do not like to connect. • One bulb (which has no difficulty connecting) likes to turn off inexplicably while all the others remain on. At the moment I am considering returning the bulbs that appear to have problems. I'm going to give them another week of moving around to see if I can find a place where they will work properly. I also want to see if the color "matching" on the bulbs gets worse. • I have all the bulbs grouped, but when adjusting color on the group, I get uneven color. ... show more

  • I love these bulbs.
Color: 2 Pack
We bought an older home. We bought it because it was quaint and charming but with an older home you run into a lot of weird electrical things. Like our bedroom. I don't know who designed this but it is the strangest setup I've ever seen. Our bedroom light is connected to a switch that also turns on the TV, fans, pretty much anything else in the room. I don't know who designed this. Because the fan takes the candelabra bulbs I was resigned to always having it on and having to reach up and pull the little cord when I wanted to turn the light on and off. Which is annoying. but we have Alexa in pretty much every room so out of desperation I started looking at candelabra sized Alexa bulbs. Wow there are not very many good reviews out there for these types of bulbs. And it's kind of pricey considering what you pay in the store for just a normal bulb. But I decided to give it a try. Set up did take me two or three attempts because of the weird way my bedroom is wired but once I got it working it has been such a great help. I mean I know first world problems but still. I wound up extremely sick and put on bed rest. I got to tell you it was so nice to be able to lay in bed and just tell Alexa to turn my lights on and off for me instead of having to get up and turn the lights on with the cord. Again I know first world problems but still this has made the weird electrical setup a lot less problematic. I have the app on my phone which unfortunately my daughter has discovered, so she frequently likes to change the color for me. I don't really use the colors that much when it just comes to my usage but it is a cool trick. Right now I have them set exactly as I want them and all I have to do is tell my device to turn them on and turn them off. ... show more

  • Great Lightbulbs
Color: 2 Pack
My only reason for giving a 4-star rating is because the app is difficult to use. Pairing was easy, but making different scenes is weird. I do like that it can connect with Alexa, but that option is pretty limited. For instance, I have a color scene where the lightbulbs will cycle through the colors slowly, but sometimes it's too bright, so ill ask Alexa to dim the lights to lets says 20%, and it'll change the bulb to regular yellow/white and dim that instead. I'm sure there's something I can change in the SmartHome app to fix that, but like I said, it's a bit of a hassle. After doing that, I'd probably have to go into the Alexa app and make another routine there. I do like the bulbs themselves, and I'm happy that there's finally a company that made color changing E12 light bulbs, it's just the SmartHome app. Oh, there's also a widget that Smarthome has, so you can easily pick scenes and shut off certain stuff from the widget, so that's been convenient as well. ... show more

I have not tried using the alexa app just yet but have used it quite a bit with the smart life app and with google voice assistant and am pleased with the experience so far. Now I'm new to smart bulbs and do not know the norm for these kind of items so I thought it was a it weird I wasn't able to set them to turn on and off at specific times with a string of commands such as turn on > (insert color) > (insert brightness) > (insert temperature).
