    • Let's the pup see out

I have a five month old pup that broke his ankle and is on 100% crate rest and must wear a cone to prevent him from tearing at the cast. This is the forth cone I've tried and finally feel confident with this design. First, the pup can see through the cone which has to be a more pleasant experience. I had purchased "soft" cones thinking that they would be more comfortable, but each one of them lost their staying power after a few days and folded down around the dog's neck exposing his mouth to the bandage. I also realized that the soft material cones made the pup's neck area very hot. This collar is absolutely stiff enough to prevent it from bending down around the neck, but I worried that it was less comfortable. However, I've found that the pup's neck isn't nearly as hot feeling with this cone. Yes, it's more likely to bang into the corner of the crate door, which makes the pup back up but he's figured it out and I don't think he's any less comfortable with this cone than the soft models, and I am absolutely certain he can't get to his bandage which is, ultimately, the most important aspect of using this product. I'm happy with it. Now, just four more weeks to go before the cast comes off! ... show more

My Doberman has been dealing with a lick granuloma for months on her front paw. We tried everything, wraps, socks, boots, inflatable collars, self adhesive wrap, a human sock with duct tape…literally NOTHING matched her determination to lick her foot. I decided it was time to put her in a cone. I knew she would hate it, but she really needed to leave her paw alone if there was any hope of it healing. The Velcro has been super secure since we put it on a week ago. She’s not been able to reach around it and her foot is finally starting to scab over. The transparency is good so she can still see when she’s walking around. Sometimes you just need to go back to the basics, so I’m really glad I ordered this. ... show more

I purchased the Small size for my miniature schnauzer. I tried the donut style first and my dog liked it okay. But she was still able to lick her belly and other parts so it wasn't so effective. Then I tried this and it worked a lot better. She couldn't lick her belly or paws any longer so she healed faster than when using the donut. It was also easier for her to sleep as her head could easily lay on the inside of the cone. 4 stars and recommended. ... show more

This cone isn't that much different than what you can purchase straight from your local vet for half the price. My dog tolerates putting a standard e-collar on just fine over hear head without needing the large Velcro area that just impedes full line of sight if it doesn't stay directly behind your pet's head. I say just to with the simple one from the vet and not mess with others that your dog won't like any better anyway. ... show more
