This was super easy to put together, and its pretty sturdy all things considered. I've had it set up for a little under a week now and my cats love to lounge in it, though they do seem sad that it's not sturdy enough to lay on top of, I didn't expect it to be. It looks just like the pictures and came with a carrying/storage case to make it easier to lug around. You just fold it by twisting from opposite sides, slip it in, and there you go! Zippers seem pretty sturdy and so far there arent any holes in the screens, so I'd say a win! I highly reccommend. Its constructed with tent poles that you insert into boning tunnels around the edges and thats how it keeps itself standing (and bounces back after attempt #6 to lay on top of it.)

Excellent, but better for cats that aren't crazy (like mine) and try to claw their way out. It was a great size, and for the few days that she was miserable from surgery, it had space for her, a blanket, food, and the much needed litter box. The zippers are fantastic and not the cheap ones that break!

The media could not be loaded. This playpen was super easy to set up and was a much cozier space for my chihuahua pup than his metal crate. Before he was old enough to sleep with me safely I set it up on my bed so that he could be safely contained but still close by. I had done the same with his smaller metal crate before getting this one and it while it kept him safe, he was not as happy. After he got old enough to have more free range of the house, this was still his safe space to go when I took a shower, had to run errands, or there were any scary household noises he didn’t like (cooking, vacuuming). He has always been a sensitive, timid little guy and I was relieved that he had a space that he felt comfortable and safe in and felt ownership of. I very much wish I had known about a crate like this with my first tiny boy was a puppy. I love the multiple zippered doors and top flap for easy access and movement. All zippers have always smoothly open and closed without getting stuck (even when awkwardly opening or closing with one hand because I have a tiny puppy in my other arm) I also appreciate that the flaps roll up and Velcro in place to stay open. I found the additional pocket really handy for easy access training treats or other puppy accoutrements. The playpen was always stable (even on the soft surface of my bed) and felt secure for my tiny pup (3-4lbs) - even when he would scratch or try to play tug of way with the flaps. I don’t know how it would withstand for a bigger or more rambunctious pup, and I was sure to keep a close eye on him inside of it when I first got it to make sure that he couldn’t move it around or topple it. When I was out of sight I always kept the top closed but in sight with the top open I never felt that he could jump out or tip it over (though he also never tried, thankfully!) I kept a towel under it just in case but even with occasional accidents and water spills it never seemed to leak through. Highly recommend for small dogs and well worth the money in my opinion. My little guy was a relatively well behaved little pup so I can see it lasting for many years and possibly many tiny puppies. As he has moved on to claim my entire bed as his safe space and needs less containment his little playpen is now a great extra little space for him to retreat to as well as use as a toy chest! I can also see it being used as a great way to hide away a litter box or piddle pads.

This was great in theory. The design is super cute and easy to put together. I bought the large so my puppy would have space to play. I used this as a play area during the day. Within two weeks she chewed the zipper at the top and broke it. My suggestion is to keep the top zipped if you plan to use it. She was also able to move the whole thing across the floor from the inside.

It’s a little flimsy. But for the price, totally worth it. The supporting stakes kept popping out of the holes and it would kind of collapse. So I put a couple of the cat scratching couches in them to help hold it upright and it worked like a charm. Definitely worth a try!

So I recently adopted a kitten because that's what you do when you're a middle aged homebody who gave up on having a social life sometime around the pandemic. While this is not my first cat (as evidenced by my litter box review that went weirdly viral here once), it's been a hot minute since I've had a wee baby cat in my house. However, after one of my sweet senior babies passed away this summer, I decided it was time to welcome a new menace into my household. I promise this review is not entirely about my kitten, though it's important to know that the baby void is the reason I bought this for two reasons. 1) It's really important to properly introduce any cats when bringing a new cat into a home because it fundamentally changes the cat political landscape. In my case, I was trying to make sure my sweet senior lady did not absolutely hate me for bringing a new chaotic baby into the house. The kitten was entirely separated for about a week in a different, secure room to let everyone adjust, before being allowed supervised time where the kitties could see and smell each other. This was a nice little playpen to keep the baby in so aforementioned senior lady could see and smell him without getting pounced constantly. 2) Holy mother I'd gotten so used to my nice calm senior ladies that I forgot that not only are kittens inclined to be absolutely BONKERS, but they seem to be on a 24/7 mission to kill themselves. I'm not kidding, if I wasn't watching at all times, he'd try to jump in every open fridge, oven, dryer. And as previously mentioned, he is a void (black cat) so he blends into the shadows. So I quickly learned that until he starts getting regular access to his braincells, it was best to keep him secure if there was something I needed to do that he was a little too curious about. As a bonus, this let him watch me do whatever tasks I needed to so that later on, he would be less curious. The crate pops up pretty easily and comes with plastic rods that you slide into little sleeves to help keep it open. It breaks down pretty easily too, in case you need it to travel. This would probably be pretty nice if you were traveling and taking a pet with you somewhere and just needed a safe place for them to snooze for a bit. I would not use it for any sort of long term securing because it's fabric and light and you have a particularly bouncy furball, they'll find a way out of it. But if you just need to keep said fuzzball secured for a bit and within eyeshot, this is a nice option.
