I bought this drone because it had solid features and was advertised as easy to use. It has not disappointed. The auto follow modes are great, and the hand gestures are really easy and responsive to set up shots. I plan on buying a remote later, but flying with the free app is fun and the range is impressive, 100 meters plus with no issues. Camera is stable on the 2 axis gimbal and video looks great. Love it. Battery life is under 15 minutes but with three you still get good flight time. ... show more

Pros: - Mobile App Control allows 500m manual flight control. - transceiver module optional: allows for 10km theoretical connection distance (~2-3km practical distance) on manual control or lose some weight and save some battery for Neo 2. - based on Youtube source, one of the quieter drones. - it's smart modes and the neo 2 small size is really great and nimble at navigating small spaces like trees and even indoor rooms. - small details like transceiver knowing which radio band is not busy and choosing that one shows a lot of thought went into designing this. - propeller guards properly prevent propellers from being damaged. - dji fly app very well designed and purposeful and packed with features. For android users, note that it is not on Google Play Store but rather an APK file you install through your browser. - dji app allows you to choose your level of engagement with dji company. Registration with dji is still mandatory, but you can choose to not upload your location or device info, but it will prevent firmware updates and other flight map. - price of Neo 2 is stellar, but you do give up having "log M" or raw video files for editing, and based on online comparisons, its 4K does have some issues with shadows and far distance details. If you are looking for that, the FLIP does that well. Cons: - battery life short: only 10-12 min practical battery life after accounting for drone weight, wind, and other factors, rather than the advertised theoretical battery life of 20 minutes. - drone has high pitched noises despite being not loud compared to other drones. - obstacle avoidance on back end relies on light. If environment is dark, no obstacle avoidance, altitude, or ground level height details. - gimbal can get easily scratched if not damaged. In the first week got a small cosmetic scratch on it i can't remove. Buy protective accessories for your drone. - Federal government banning future DJI drone models: they did not complete security audit and give dji due process when banning them. Are we living in a free market as they say? And the domestic alternatives are specifically designed for mil use. Double standards. Show that we care by continuing to support DJI as a consumer company. Summary: I would still get DJI drone if you are worried about supply chain issues and third party sellers. I got my entire Neo 2 combo items through third party sellers on Amazon. Batteries are still purchaseable and legit. As a beginner, it's nice to have different modes of control whether it is AI smart features and gesture control, manual app control or the RC N3 controller control. Despite its battery being short, the 2 other batteries in the fly more bundle makes up for it with 30 total mins of flying. And I mostly intend to make short no-audio clips of my life to add into other vlog type videos. ... show more

I had previously purchased a cheap, drone that would not stabilize or hover but actually had a good camera. This drone is a game changer. No guesswork, no connection issues. It just plain works. The image quality is outstanding. The way it connects to satellites and lands in your hand is amazing. I have flown it in some wind and it does fine in breezy conditions. The gesture controls are intuitive, easy to use and work very well. I did not by a transceiver so I am an app only flyer and it does just fine. The object sensing works very well. Let me start by saying I love thos thing. I fly my Neo every day to check on my property. This one although not perfect comes close to bridging the neo to the bigger drones. It's twicw as fast and safer to fly in windy conditions but the obstical avoidance is almost useless in some cases. I've often gotten stuck because the obstacle avoidance won't let me go. It's disabled most of the time. It's makes too much noise needlessly. There was no 2X digital zoom added to the wheel knob on the controller. None the less I still love it. It's a workhorse. Too bad DJI decided to promote narcissism rather than practical use. Silly dispay screen instead of ir illuminators. Maybe one day someone who actually uses it will be the influence in it's design. ... show more

Worst drone out of the DJI line. Why? Well the design looks very cool that for sure is there, and the picture quality is absolutely stellar, the battery life is just not all the best, and the portability is really a nice feature. Now comes the big issue. When I did all the firmware updates, fly safe update, and everything needed to start up the drone with gesture controls, voice controls everything, the drone was tasked to destroy me. It would record for about 10-25 seconds, then disconnect and hit me in the face. It would not respond to the voice commands I would give it, causing it to act violently and crash into bushes nearby. For it having obstacle avoidance, it more had obstacle must hit everything mode. I looked into the settings and everything was highlighted green so it wasn't user error. I tried pairing my DJI mic minis, and it had issues wanting to connect, so it had to be via bluetooth. I then wanted to test out how it would follow if I ran around the house. It would not stay in front of me when I commanded it to, and would move to the left, than right of me, to eventually staying behind me. Growing more and more frustrated, I ventured out onto our golf course in the back yard. No obstacles whatsoever to try the hand gestures. It felt like I harnessed the force from Star Wars, but it quickly grew problematic. The drone was disconnecting when I was recording, fighting for it's life when there was hardly any wind, kept saying my flight was running low battery with 75% left, it had a thing for me and wanted so badly to keep crashing into my head. Five times it did this where it successfully went full speed into my face, and my wife said this has to be a defective unit. Sadly, after all my trying and figuring out all the settings, it is indeed a faulty piece of equipment. For the value of money for this drone, personally, I would recommend going with the Potensic Atom 2 mainly because it has better features built into it and better battery life as well as a screen controller. I currently have the DJI mini 2, and that has proven to be the best drone out of all DJI products. The Neo's unfortunately boast great usability, but in the long run, try to end your life every chance they get. I would honestly advise anyone who is looking into this drone to look elsewhere and hopefully you'll have better luck. I have owned many DJI drones and never had an issue with them like the Neo 2 had. ... show more
