Our house came with one of those old fashioned colonial style light fixtures (that did absolutely nothing to elevate the style of the house) over the garage. I really hated this light fixture, but there was never an opportunity or reason to replace it... until we got our house painted. My husband agreed, as part of the painting process, to replace all the exterior light fixtures, and that was top of my list. I really wanted a gooseneck black fixture that did NOT have motion detector (we have tons of deer who hang out near the house), and after much shopping and price comparisons on Amazon, we chose this one. The quality was quite obvious when it arrived, and we loved the look. I especially liked the fact that the interior of the fixture is white, which i think helps to add extra lighting in the dark. The installation process was a bit challenging, but that wasn't the fault of the Diyel... the fixture was going to be placed on top of some weird pressboard siding that (we discovered upon removing the old one) had rotted. My husband had to get very creative with the installation, but in the end, it looked fantastic. I have no idea how durable or long it will last, but it sure looks good! We are super happy with our purchase. My husband keeps saying he had no idea how bad the old one looked until we put this one up. Attaching a picture so you can see. The media could not be loaded. Have to replace 6 out of 7 of these after only 6 months. Flimsy lights that do not withstand any wind. The only one that is fine is under a covered roof away from the wind
