I got six batteries with my set. When it came on Friday I had no clue that all six batteries would be dead by Sunday night. Either the batteries they sent weren’t very good or these units wear through them way too fast. I may have to buy a more expensive set to get proper use length from any batteries I use. They do not doo too well when turned up to max volume as the batteries die, lots of weird noises, not just background noise. High pitched hums and odd squeaks. But for $20 a pair they aren’t too bad. Just remember to buy Lots of batteries when you buy the set. ... show more

These amplifiers are nice. I got these for my grandfather who was having trouble hearing the clearly and he says they make a big difference. These are not hearing aids, they amplify sound but they are pretty good. There is some background static but overall they are nice.

Purchased and tried 6 different types for my Son who was visiting me. These were the last pair we tried and didn't expect a good outcome because they were so cheap. They actually helped the best and with no feedback. My son was amazed and happy. I returned the others and purchased a 2nd pair for backup. Highly recommended and this proves that sometimes you get more than what you paid for. It took lots of patience and trying. Grateful for the opportunity to try and return. Say What? These amps are a good value for the money and they work to help me hear stuff w/out blowing everybody out of the house with my loud TV. They are good but they amplify all sounds; they are not hearing aids. My only other complaint is that I wish the manufacturer made these items for American size ears. I have to fin-naggle them to loop over my ears. They are a tight fit and a bit uncomfortable when first put on. Larger ear loops please! ... show more

Its an amplifier, as stated, so it will amplify the TV and voices but the volume control is very sensitive so be careful. I use it most nights and the batteries get weak very quickly. And be sure you turn it off when you take it out of your ear or the battery will surely be gone the next time you reach for it. Oh, and be sure to change the batteries at the table. I wanted to give this hearing amplifier a try because I am not quite ready for the more expensive hearing aids. It works well however, it is very uncomfortable to wear. Even with the smallest ear bud I still can't fit it comfortably in my ear. The larger part that sits outside of the ear is very bulky.
