Bought a 2017 F-150 that had inoperative OE power running boards. Driver side was seized and passenger side they had run over something the busted the entire bracket. I purchased both sides from DICMIC on Amazon. They are exact replicas of the Ford component matching fit and function. Installation difficulty was only from the angle and space needed to access the underside of the truck and dealing with seized and rusted set screws that held the torque bar onto the shaft of the motor. If your truck is clean and without rust the whole process to replace the motor will be less than a hour each side. My truck required 14mm socket, a torx 30 socket and allen wrench to remove running board block from bracket though I had read 13mm were the nuts holding bracket to body. I advise planning ahead and soaking everything with penetrating oil in advance. Dealerships want nearly $1500 for these jobs but buying the bracket here for less than half the price of OE and doing the work yourself is a huge savings. I will update review should the quality or longevity not prove adequate. Thus far they are excellent ... show more

After 8 months I finally got around to installing this and the board stops before fully retracting. I can easily push the running board all the way up by hand from this point. The hinges are not binding at all, the motor is hitting the retract position prematurely.

Replaced the old motors on my '17 F-150 and the running boards now operate like new. The motor is easy to install, a simple plug to connect the wiring. I found it easiest to get under the truck and replace the motor with the running board in the "out" position. The motor and front of the running board is held on with three bolts, and then also remove the bolts on the rear bracket and the entire running board with motor comes off. There is a long thin shaft that runs from the front to the rear bracket. Remove the entire motor and front bracket all together, along with the screw holding the shaft, then just attach the new motor and shaft. Ordered one the bolt hole was snapped off. Returned and got a new one, second one had bolt hole snapped off. Will not order again in regards to not wanting it to snap off while in service
