I was looking for a weatherproof outdoor timer and I came across this one. It has rained quite a few times since I’ve had this timer and it still works perfectly fine, so it is definitely weatherproof. I really like that it came with a remote so it is easy to turn on and off from the comfort of being inside and not having to go outside in the cold every night. The remote does come with batteries. You have the option to turn it on and off whenever you prefer or you can use the timer option. All you have to do is plug it in, chose what timer option you’d like and then you’re all set. Once it turns dusk outside, the timer automatically turns on, from that point your timer will start. I chose to set mine for 6 hours. It kicks on automatically every night at my preferred timer option which is a really nice feature. Very easy to use, works well, highly recommend! ... show more

Every so often I have to buy a new timer for my in ground lighting, problem is, there always discontinued and I have to buy a different model. In this case, I bought this one because the simple ones I was used to you just push the button from off to 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,F or dusk to dawn. This model is missing that sweet spot of 7 hours for summer off at 3am. In winter it gets darker earlier, so at 6 hours for example, lights go off around 11:30 or so, 8 hours off around 1:30am. I miss 7 for summer and 12 hour for winter, were night owles. But this is personal preference. I love the remote for when you lose power, that happens alot down here in deep south east fl, a simple click from inside and they are set again. Sorry, house is under re construction, but need our yard lights lol ... show more

Waterproof christmas light sensor light timer - works as expected. I like that we can choose dusk to dawn instead of just hours. Works well. Remote control easy to use. Black plug in and remote. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. The previous controller we used for the Christmas decorations stopped working. We needed something that could be used outdoors and was flexible. This tics all the boxes. 2 three prong outlets. Photo sensor and multiple modes and a remote. So simple to setup and use. We really have not had a reason to use the remote yet, but it's nice to have. The first one I received had a broken remote. The "on" button did not work. That is the only reason for four stars instead of five. I returned it and requested another. Received the second one a couple days later and it works just as described. I have not tried the timer, I just use it to turn the outside lights on and off without having to go outside and plug them in. For that, it works perfectly. I also can't speak to the weatherproofness because ours is located under a porch roof. The product seems substantial and hardy though. ... show more

This is a great little timer for an infrared heat lamp inside a catio. The only problem I've had is figuring out how to keep it from automatically coming on at dusk, since there are nights the heat lamp isn't needed. This timer uses a photocell to turn on at dusk. You can then set how many hours that it will remain on (from 2 hours up until dawn). You can also have it "on" all the time using the remote. When I first used it I had some issues with it turning on consistently at dusk and off at dawn (it basically stopped working). The seller did contact me and offered a replacement (so great customer service!). Its a good concept, with the photocell detecting the light.
