I use this for aquarium lights. It has a dawn and dusk scheduling routine feature that is wonderful. It is weird getting that feature to work and turn off after dimming. It has the start and end brightness, but requires a schedule entry to turn it off. The app is interesting to setup. Make sure your phone or tablet is on a 2.4 Ghz wifi network as 5G dies not work.

Ordered dimmer yesterday. Received it today. Nicely packaged. Clear instructions. I set it up in 3 minutes using the Smart Life app, which I have used successfully for all my smart plugs. Then it immediately paired with Alexa. I learned that it's always easier to set up a smart plug right beside the router and, once done, plug it in at the intended destination rather than trying to get it to connect to WiFi from wherever you want to use the plug. I set the minimum dimming range to 20% in the app. Used a 100 watt equivalent dimmable LED bulb, The dimmer and lamp responded immediately and without fail to Alexa voice commands. So far so good and seems like a worthwhile addition to the growing family of smart plugs in my home.

I have 2 LED "torchiers" in my office and need strict control of the lighting for my eyes during long days of work at the computer. Not only does this unit control both at the same time, I can dim it to low levels and I don't get any flickering (at least not that I'm noticing). I'll be buying more of these for my living room and bedroom.

I was looking for a replacement for Insteon. So far, these are working well. They we're easy to install and were up and running in minutes. I like that there's 2 plugs on them, and they are dimmable. I liked Insteon because it was one interface for all my smarthome devices. These plugs use the Smart Life app. Some of my devices use Kasa, some Feit, some Tuya. I have to stop and figure out what app works with what device. Alexa helps, but even then, you have to remember the apps. Also these work with wifi, and if there a power outage or the internet goes out, you have to reinstall the plugs which is a pain. Insteon just came back up and everything worked. This does work and for the price, it's a good deal. Insteon was $50 each, these were about $20. Overall, I am happy with these plugs, and I will probably be buying more. For the price, they're a good replacement for my now defunct Insteon plugs.

Does it work? Yes. You plug this into an outlet, plug in your, lamp for example, and as long as you have dimmable lights installed in your fixture you can press the button on the outlet to turn your lamp on/off. If you hold the button the lights will dim. Where this product falls short is when you try syncing it to Alexa. This is my first time buying a dimmable plug and first time buying this brand. I have a dozen other smart devices; plugs, switches, bulbs, etc. some easier to sync then others but overall I haven’t had an issue with a single one. This product did not connect at all. Paper instructions don’t sync up with digital instructions. So I went through the process of trying the paper instructions first…no luck. Then the digital…no luck. Then I tried combining the two in a way that made sense…no luck. The device doesn’t even work in the way that either instructions say. One example, instructions tell you to hold down the button for 5 long seconds until the little light flashes red and white. I could never get it to flash white. Only red. I could get it to flash red, fast, continuously. If I pressed the button several times I could get it to flash slower…or was it the other way around. In the end, Alexa could never find the plug. I considered keeping it at first but quickly realized walking across the room, crouching down and pressing the button on the plug every time I wanted to turn the light on or to dim it just wasn’t efficient. And I certainly don’t want my young daughter that close to the plug any time she wants to turn the light on. Frustrating experience. Side note: all of my devices are new. Apps and software are up to date.

Update: I lowered the number of stars because if you install the app, you get flooded with pop up messages from them trying to sell you stuff. I tried turning messages off, and it somehow got turned back on. If that happens again, this gets one star and goes in the garbage. If you have two lamps, especially if you want to have brighter bulbs (1600 lm) this can be a cost effective solution. Setup with an app is similar to that of other smart devices, and was actually easier than the instructions would have me believe. As soon as I plugged the device in, it was ready to pair. Just make sure to set up an account using the app if you don't have one, and the rest is trivial. This device can be more expensive than some pairs of smart bulbs, but less expensive than a pair of 1600 lm smart bulbs, even if you add the cost of a pair of dimmable bulbs. So it may or may not be cost effective. If you want lower brightness or individual control, there are many smart bulbs on the market, including ones from this company. So far, the only one I used was from a different company and was not as reliable as a regular bulb with this device. I haven't tried this company's smart bulbs yet. In my case, this was the best solution for two bedroom lamps. It's easy to use with Alexa, but if you do go with smart bulbs instead, Alexa will let you control them together or individually depending on the command or configuration, so this is one of several options to keep in mind.
