The only way I found to connect this device to the Smart Life app is using the AP mode which is the slow blinking light. It will not connect using the "Easy Mode" fast blinking light mode. Follow the HBN instructions for AP mode.

First of all it's a very sturdy, quality made product that can withstand the elements. It was easy to connect it to my internet but unfortunately I can't seem to get it connected to the home smart network. I can control all the other lights from my Alexa or other devices but cannot connect this device to my home. ... show more

I love this for control by phone but what I didn’t realize is you couldn’t use with 5g. My router does both so I though I could set it to lower speed but it was a huge pain to set up. I have to change my router and everything thing that runs off of it to the slower signal, once I finally did that it worked. Thankfully I’ll only be using this once or twice a year so I can switch it back once the holidays are over. Someone who is better with technology may have a lot easier time setting it up but I struggled! ... show more

I'm not sure what the issue is for other reviewers, but I purchased one of these and it works so well I bought another one. I did not download any separate app, the app that I use for indoor lights and things actually noticed the stake right away and connected it. I've been able to set timers, set up scheduling based on astronomical stuff, etc. I don't use an Alexa or Google Home because I don't like voice control, but my app does have that functionality so I assume it would work just as easily. I have had no issues putting in any type of plug, either... One reviewer said that only indoor plugs worked, but all of my outdoor extension cords and outdoor cables all plug in easily with enough space to use all outlets if I want. I have it hooked up to a transformer for pathway lights in the backyard, and it's set up for my porch lights (Edison LED string lights) in the front yard. I have added holiday lights to it as well. This has been easily the best option I have found for outdoor smart power. It's better than some of my indoor outlets. Unfortunately, it is not weatherproof for in-use, so I am fitting plastic boxes around them to further protect them from rain. That would be my ideal product, but no smart plug that I've found has the in-use rain cover. It would also be great if I could control the outlets separately, or at least by side... But that is something that the indoor ones still struggle with too. This is perfect otherwise, and, for the price, it can't be beat. ... show more

    • Difficult to connect
Easy to understand instructions but the app was hard to find a connection. I already have the smart life app and it says it will work with that app but it took awhile for it to finally connect correctly.

Actual outlet strip is made well, works exactly as advertised. Using it with the app is great EXCEPT setting is up is a pain because the App does not have this exact device on the list of devices so you have to try clicking on all of them until the setup works. I set up one at my house and one at my parents. Also there are 2 apps. 1 works well with iPhones, the other with Androids. Not sure which but it's in other reviews. ... show more

It is a slick power portal. BUT, the instructions were written by a third-grade art student. They provide little to no useful information. Calling the help line was... helpful, but they were unable to get the smart-plug to connect to the app. After hanging up, I reset everything and was able to make it work. I ordered two.     • So far it’s been great
This plug worked great for our Halloween decor. It didn’t fit the plugs for our inflatables very well because the hinges on each outlet got in the way of pushing the plug in all the way. We pushed the plugs in as far as they would go and they worked fine. We just covered the outlet to make sure water didn’t get in. It was nice not having to go outside to turn everything off at night since we were connected to the app and our google home. We were also able to turn our decor on while we were away from home for the weekend. I had a little trouble connecting my plug to Wi-Fi but my husband figured it out immediately without instructions. We’ll be using it again for our Christmas display soon. I would still highly recommend even though we had a little trouble with our inflatable plugs. ... show more
