These look great! Sturdier than i thought. In the bedroom, they throw just enough light, but more importantly, it's light that's bouncing off the wall and not blinding you. In the living room, they don't reflect as much as regular lamps onto your TV. I kind of understand what people are saying about the floor switch because it is fussy, but now that I figured out how to properly use it, I'm fine with it. The trick is to "tap" quickly for on or off. When I say tap, I mean very light pressure, and when I say quickly, I mean quickly. If you count to number one, it's too long of a tap. It's complicated like this because the dimmer is the same switch. Once the light is on, if you hold the same button down continuously, it will start to dim the light. Release and then hold the button down again, and it will start to brighten. However, if the light is off, and you press the button too long, absolutely nothing will happen. No on, no off, no anything. In theory, it's one button that does it all, in practice, it's a pain in the backside until you train your muscle memory how to use it and be consistent. ... show more

    • Unique lighting, malfunctioning (just after) 1 year
The media could not be loaded. We get a ton of compliments on these lamps - we use them on either side of our TV to backlight the wall and they are great for that. One of the lamps is now seriously malfunctioning and flickering to the point it’s unusable and the lamps are only useful to us as a pair. Updating after working with their customer service. Our lamp was defective, but because it failed four months after the one year warranty expired, we’ve been offered a $7.50 discount on ordering a single lamp replacement (which go for $50). I cannot in good conscience recommend buying these lamps if you need them for more than a year. ... show more

These lamps are nice looking, but the light is a very cold, nearly blue white. Disappointing, and these are too unwieldy to send back.
