I bought it in March and started to use it in April only once a week for no more than one hour. It worked great, but now it turns off by itself with nothing plugged into it. I tried lighter plug, the FLEXVOLT 20V/60V MAX Lithium-Ion 12.0Ah Battery and direct connect to the care battery. Same outcome. My Walmart Everstart inverter 1000, I had it for 4 yrs before I gave it away to buy this Dewalt based on positive reviews. ... show more

Very happy with everything about the unit so far. That said, just be sure to only have one (1) source of power feeding into it at a time. As manufactured, it is possible for the unit to be attached to a 12V car battery at the same time a 20V tool battery is inserted. As far as I could tell there is just one single line in the instructions - on Pg. 10 - which lets you know what a truly terrible idea that would be. Were I DeWalt, I would have some sort of physical lock-out which prevents this from happening. That, and/or it would be boldly and repeatedly mentioned throughout the written instructions. ... show more

We purchased this before a weather event and never got to use it. After a month or so after the Amazon return period I went to use it and it completely did not work. The AC plug on it straight up does not work at all. We got the one where it uses the battery and used the rig hot batteries and everything, it does not work at all. The only thing that does work is the usb plug on it. Completely useless and waste of money, I thought getting the dewalt one would be reliable compared to the cheaper brands and apparently I was wrong. Avoid at all cost. ... show more

Ac outlets didn't work, but I bought mine used "like new", so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Even if it did work, I feel like $200 is a little much for something like this. Taking my chances on an off brand that uses dewalt batteries for only $80.
