Dewalt Inverter with Multiple Power inputs

Living in an area that has seen a fair share of storms and Hurricanes I wanted something that would be able to take advantage of the Dewalt batteries I have on hand. This inverter by specs is very capable of providing multiple power outputs utilizing different sources. For instance, 140w using the cigarette lighter, 300w using a 20V battery or 1000w connected to your car battery. With two standard outlets, a USB A and USB C plug I feel comfortable knowing I have the option to run a fan, recharge my phones, run a light if power goes out. Having been without power for 5 days and stranded due to a road outage this is a nice addition to my emergency kit. Yes, I do have a backup generator so no I'm not just relying on this for a power outage. If you buy one, check the seal and make sure it's not broken, the first one I received had already been opened by someone else. I returned it and Amazon sent me a replacement, very fast about it too.

Stay away if wysiwyg matters in advertising or 1000W is what you want

First Dewalt product I don’t like. But maybe it is Amazon. Perhaps I received an earlier version than the one that is being sold now, I almost certainly did; the question is intent. The difference in the side of the product that was not displayed is troubling, for it is that side that has an annoying difference. The screws- not the newer simple system - for the jumper cables were so tight they were not removable. The feet were forever loose. I thought this newer system was in place for a couple of years. I did not try the 1000W level until I needed it and then it did not work; sadly this was after the return date. Waste of good money.

Awesome power device for the dewalt platform

Bought this because of a tornado that knocked out power for a week and it’s a lifesaver was able to run tv Xbox and WiFi which is awesome a good tool to have at a great price especially the fact that you can hook it to the car in two ways and use batteries like my flex volts and power packs for a ton of run time. It seems quite reliable and no issues with overheating. It’s way smaller than it appears on the picture so that was a nice surprise. Well worth it to bring some comfort back in a pinch.

Just one source of input power at a time.

Very happy with everything about the unit so far. That said, just be sure to only have one (1) source of power feeding into it at a time. As manufactured, it is possible for the unit to be attached to a 12V car battery at the same time a 20V tool battery is inserted. As far as I could tell there is just one single line in the instructions - on Pg. 10 - which lets you know what a truly terrible idea that would be. Were I DeWalt, I would have some sort of physical lock-out which prevents this from happening. That, and/or it would be boldly and repeatedly mentioned throughout the written instructions.

I bought it in March and started to use it in April only once a week for no more than one hour. It worked great, but now it turns off by itself with nothing plugged into it. I tried lighter plug, the FLEXVOLT 20V/60V MAX Lithium-Ion 12.0Ah Battery and direct connect to the care battery. Same outcome. My Walmart Everstart inverter 1000, I had it for 4 yrs before I gave it away to buy this Dewalt based on positive reviews.

Might have liked it if it worked

Ac outlets didn't work, but I bought mine used "like new", so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Even if it did work, I feel like $200 is a little much for something like this. Taking my chances on an off brand that uses dewalt batteries for only $80.
