I’m an electrical engineer and design avionics in small to medium class launch vehicles. This was bought to run a low wattage heater inside a small cavity of a rocket segment during transport. I also grew up in a home renovation family business so I am well versed with most power tools and brands. This inverter gives Dewalt a really bad name. Aside from it not working out of the box, it is quite noticeably built very very cheaply. Even the cables it comes with are made of low-grade wire and terminals. The inverter is very light and obvious that there isn’t much inside. I can only assume this inverter was built for the sole purpose of deceiving consumers with the Dewalt brand and providing an inferior product. I returned this and bought the Voltworks inverter shown in the image. This may sound like a cheesy cheap brand, but the Voltworks inverter put the Dewalt to shame in every way. It’s much heavier and the controls/terminals are solid. The 4AWG terminated wire is of great quality even by aerospace standards. Oh…and it actually turned on! Granted this is a Pure Sine Wave inverter vs. the Dewalt is only a modified inverter. But for only $60 more go with the Voltworks Pure Sine Wave inverter. ... show more

I have one of these in each of my work trucks and I couldn't live without them. The quality is great super easy to connect to either a 12v outlet or directly connect it to your vehicles battery for even better performance. One complaint is when your car isn't running it will beep over and over and over again but it also reminds you to start your vehicle every once in awhile to charge your battery back up.
