Best edger I've owned, as expected with Dewalt. It's priced higher than others because you're paying for quality. It's reliable, well made, sturdy and pretty strong, although I did have it stop a few times this weekend when edging a yard that has never been edged before and the ground was clay, so this is not a knock on the product. Relatively sharp, wish it was sharper to cut taller grass, but this isn't a trimmer, it's an edger. Kinda have to bend over to edge no matter how much you adjust it (I'm 6'), so take this into consideration. For this reason, I should give it a 4 star, but it's a Dewalt and I have a hard time finding fault with most of their tools.

I really like the usability of the battery powered edger. I actually use this backwards by pulling it towards me instead of pushing it away. It is easier to control and use that way and sends all the debris away from you!

The tool is easy to assemble, and powerful to use. There's minimal guidance provided, so adjusting the guide and depth is strictly trial and error. The cutting blade is vertical, which works well along cement, where the edge straight. Unfortunately 95% of my driveway is asphalt, which has a 45 degree edge slope. For that I needed to use the shallow setting for near the top, and the medium setting for farther out. Using the tool was definitely easier than just the hand tool for clearing that wedge.

I gave this 5 stars because the tool works just as it should. I did return this item, because after utilizing it and edging for a few feet, dirt/mud would collect in the guard surrounding the blade, making it almost impossible to keep going, and I would have to stop and clean it out before I could edge any further. This happened over and over. I could not use it - but it did edge.

The 20v battery just wasn’t strong enough. Stopped working in just a few minutes. The great thing about Amazon is they refunded my money. Amazon’s customer service is second to none!!!! That’s we buy so much from them year after year!!

When I was thinking about buying this product I read some of the reviews who spoke negatively of it. In reading them I honestly thought to myself "these people dont know what they're doing" lol. I love Dewalt products and have worked in landscaping in the past so I figured I'd get this product and have no issue at all. Those negative reviews were not wrong. The product looks great but constantly stalled when trying to create a new edge. I am a new homeowner and a lot of the up keep from the previous residents wasn't great. I was attempting to use the Dewalt edger to create a brand new edge and it just wasn't the tool for that in my opinion. I went back to amazon and requested a refund but never found time to box it back up (I tossed the original box) and take it to a drop off location. So, I bought a manual edge from my local hardware store and I created the edge along my walk way. After I did that I used the Dewalt Edger to go at it again and clean it up. During that use it worked great. It wasn't stalling out from the overgrowth and did a nice job. I think it's a great tool in the aspect of maintaining an existing edge but not at creating a new one. In my landscaping experience I've used STIHL edgers which I've never had a problem with when it came to creating a edge in someone's yard. Maybe I was expecting too much lol. Anywho the price is great especially in comparison to other lawn edgers and as long as you're routinely edging your yard at least bi weekly this should be able to keep up. If not you're gonna find it stalling out and being a nuisance.
