This is a great MAINTENANCE edger. This is battery powered and it does a great job on a weekly use. I do use it in the spring to do the initial cut but it takes a long time compared to a gas powered edger. Once you get through the initial cut it works like a champ.

The tool is easy to assemble, and powerful to use. There's minimal guidance provided, so adjusting the guide and depth is strictly trial and error. The cutting blade is vertical, which works well along cement, where the edge straight. Unfortunately 95% of my driveway is asphalt, which has a 45 degree edge slope. For that I needed to use the shallow setting for near the top, and the medium setting for farther out. Using the tool was definitely easier than just the hand tool for clearing that wedge. ... show more

All the weight is in the motor end easy enough to use for a 70 year old, but the only draw back is it loads up with grass and dirt then the motor stalls. Pick up and bump on sidewalk and you are goo for another 15 feet. I admit I haven't edged in 3 weeks, but I am sure it will work better the next time as I won't let it get as thick.. Dislike the 2 trigger switch and the motor cut off is to quick to kick in. ... show more

I bought this used from Amazon, it showed up with mud and dust on it. The previous customer must’ve had a very large area or it was unmanaged for some time. This little edger went straight to work and beautified my driveway and sidewalk, takes about 10 minutes and barely uses any battery power. It has an overload stop feature to prevent burning up the motor. Not loud at all. So glad I bought this! A definite must have if you live in an HOA neighborhood. ... show more

Just received my tool today, immediately put together and threw on a 5amp hour battery and went to work. I only have 200’ of edges and it did a perfectly fine job. Ground was still a touch moist but seemed to do well and only used up one bar on the battery (which was not a fresh charge) but pulled off a drill. Surely going to be a favorite tool as having clean lines is so rewarding. ... show more

    • I love DeWalt, but this is just bad.

The media could not be loaded. Take a look at the video, nothing much more to say. It simply doesn’t work. I don’t know if I got a bad one or what, but this couldn’t even start up after pre-cutting a starting point. It would spin if I pull the trigger with the blade in the air, but that’s about it. I love DeWalt tools and still do, but this one is just embarrassing unless I got a defective one, which I hope is the case.
