  • It's battery powered, so temper your expectations.
I already have a lot of DeWalt tools and am certain that I will be very happy with this purchase. My sister-in-law recently bought one of these from a big box store and she is so relieved to not have to pull on a starter rope anymore, and she says it cuts just as well as her old gas-powered mower did. I know for a fact that battery drills don’t have the same power as corded drills, so I won’t be expecting this mower to cut like a gas powered one. I don’t have anything against pulling a rope, but I like to have the engine start when I do and my current push mower no longer does. My current push mower is one of those self-propelled mowers that was made with plastic gears and pulleys, items that self-destructed after a couple years use and are no longer available. The engine must have self-destructed too since it just doesn’t want to run. I guess I could rebuild the carburetor and make sure I’m getting a good spark, but then I’d have to fight it to push it since it wasn’t made to be pushed. Ok, I know a gas-powered mower would have cost less than this one; but there are a lot of advantages to operating on battery power. For one, no more cans of gas to make me smell like an Amoco station. No more annual tune-ups. Virtually zero maintenance of any kind other than putting the batteries on the charger after use and maybe a new blade every couple of years. I’ve been using DeWalt drills for the past twenty years or so and have yet to see one fail, so I don’t expect this mower to fail either. I was pleased to see that the batteries from my SDS Max hammer-drill will fit this mower since I rarely use it, giving me two in the mower and two on the charger at all times (I have a four-battery charger). I think I’m going to like this mower; my wife will probably like it too. I am scheduled to receive this mower in less than a week. If I find anything bad to report I will edit this review, but I’m betting that won’t happen. With the price of gas fluctuating as it has the past fifteen or so years I don’t know how long it would take to make buying extra batteries economically equal to buying gas, so if you don’t already have extra batteries this could be something to consider. ... show more

  • Not bad you'll need extra batteries
So other than needing to buy 4 extra batteries in order to do our yard at one time...the lawn mower is pretty good. It is light weight and it cuts the grass pretty good. My hope is I get good use out of it in order to make up paying for batteries vs gas My yard is half acre

  • Ok for electric
Works for regular cutting but if it’s taller than a week or so. Go gas

  • Mower runs great
Battery like good for about 20 minutes. Could be better but what do you expect, be great if it could run on any dewalt 20v lithium battery

  • Battery life
Very good, I just used it once so far. Don't know about the dual 20-volt battery life. Question: I have Dewalt 60 volt batteries as well. Can I use these 60-volt batteries in this mower as well?

  • Husband absolutely loved his birthday gift
5 stars hands down.

  • Battery Life
I have a relatively small yard which takes approximately an hour and twenty minutes to mow. It's very frustrating that the batteries only last approximately forty-five minutes. I have to then put the batteries on the charger and finish the next day. I bought this mower because I have a small yard. If I would have known I would have to spend the same amount as the cost of the mower for extra batteries, I would have kept my trusty gas mower. ... show more

  • No auto drive, but very light and maneuverable
Easy to set up and run, but the battery limits what you can get done. I was not able to mow the entire yard on the included 8 Amp batteries, but I was able to find 10 Amp batteries. Light weight makes it easy to move around, but it is a manual push mower with no auto drive capability, so my angled yard makes mowing difficult on the hill. Great mower that uses the same batteries as my Dewalt tools, but can't give it a 5 star rating since it would be better with auto-drive capabilities and the several hour break necessary to recharge batteries before I can finish mowing the yard. ... show more
