  • The tight corners.
"The Husqvarna Z254 54 in. 26 HP Zero Turning Riding Mower" has a comfortable seat. Extremely easy to operate. My husband loves whipping the sucker all around the yard. He can easily weave it in between our two rows of 12 fruit trees that are standing 7' apart. It is simple to maneuver and it is light to the touch. Completely opposite of our last mower. The truck driver delivered the mower loaded on a pallet jack. He brought it onto our driveway; left it there on pallets. The only difficulty was getting the mower off the pallets. My husband purchased the "Rear Trailer Tow Hitch Kit" which "Fits Most RZ & Z200, Zero Turn Radius Mowers" through Amazon. He claims it is the best hitch he has ever used. After attaching the hitch, he tied a rope through it and then to his truck. Consequently, pulling the mower off the pallets. Once it was parked on the cement driveway, he added a couple bolts (which came with the mower) to the handle, and hooked up the battery (which is located under the seat). The seat also had to be installed. The directions were simple to follow. It took approx 40 min to put together. And presto! He ordered the "Himal Outdoors Zero-Turn Mower Cover for up to 60" decks". He feels it is a medium-duty cover, but will last quite a while. It will do the job. ... show more

  • Excellent
I ordered this mower, it arrived very quickly via a freight company. The freight truck driver had a little trouble getting the crate off the truck, but, after cutting the crate down a little with a sawzall, he managed to lower it on the lift gate. The mower required very little assembly, the seat and battery connections, and the final bolts in the steering levers, but, the whole operation took about 20 minutes. After assembly, I had to adjust the steering levers slightly so it would run straight when both sticks were all the way forward. This was a quick adjustment that didn't require and tools. Once all was done, I tried it out on the lawn. It cut extremely well and I cut my mowing time in half compared to my Cub Cadet lawn tractor. With the mulching kit added it has proved to be a very nice experience. The 27 HP engine is very powerful and cuts deep grass with ease. ... show more

  • GREAT MOWER
The assembly was a little difficult for a man with large hands if you didn't have the correct tools at home but it was still quick to assemble and easy to operate for all of us. Does a great job and exactly as advertised.

  • Steering issue with < 20 hours run time
The steering STOPPED WORKING correctly with less than 20 hours of run time. User's Manual provided no specific help in fixing this problem. The mower worked very well and tracked straight, right out of the crate. I was loving it. About 7 or 8 cuts into the season of cutting my 2-acre yard, the steering became VERY erratic. Even starting in my garage became too dangerous. I would have both arms firmly in the Park Position, start the motor, and one side would begin to grab and start spinning me around in my garage WHILE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN PARK!!! I had to cut the engine switch off !!! It was pretty shocking to me. I searched the manual and online for corrections or adjustments to this issue. I took a flashlight and took off some cover panels looking for something loose/stuck/broken/misaligned/out-of-place and I couldn't find anything that looked wrong. Now I use the "releases" behind each wheel, push the mower out into an open area, re-engage the "releases", and start the motor where I've got room to "run" and regain control. The only other symptom is that the arms also became much more stiff and difficult to actuate. Again, I spent time looking under the covers at the linkages and could NOT find anything that was out of place. If this happened to me with less than 20 hours of run-time, it has to have happened to other people too. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anyone with a similar issue who has solved it and posted the solution online. With that big of an issue with that little run-time, I can't really recommend this mower. ... show more

  • Check rear tire assembly
The mower came completely assembled except for the seat, battery hook up, and seat safety switch. Customer assembly went relatively smoothly except for the battery hook up, which was a bugger reattaching the battery hold down bracket. I noticed that the mower balked when put in motion especially from the right side. There was also the smell of burnt rubber as in a belt slipping. Additionally, the mower tracked to the right. So after watching several You Tube videos on steering adjustments, I jacked up both sides of the mover, started it and check the neutral position and did a subjective analysis of equal rotations at max forward lever positions. While watching the tire rotating, I noticed that I could see the entire axle on the left side but not on the right. Further observation showed that the lug nuts were recessed deeper n the left side than the right. I removed the right wheel and could feel the heat where the rubber tire was rubbing the chassis. So the right tire was installed with the deepest lug nut recess outward and the problem were solved. This factory assembly error should have been picked up by the final assembly quality check. Also, although I have not scoured the operator manual, the correct position of the wheels when attached to the axle should be emphasized. ... show more
