The DEWALT 20V MAX XR Brushless Cordless Pole Saw comes equipped with an 8-inch Bar and Chain to handle all of your pruning needs. It features a high efficiency brushless motor that delivers up to 96 cuts per charge. The well balanced design and durable pole shaft extends up to 10 ft. for a total reach of 15 ft. It has an auto oiling feature for added convenience and time saving. DEWALT pole saw also features metal bucking strips for a durable cutting grip and a tree hook allows you to easily remove pruned branches.

Just finished pruning and topping 65 trees in our orchard. The best I've used by far. Bar is perfect size, I cut up to 5" diameter, never had to sharpen the chain once all week and never drained the battery one time. Lightweight, easy to maneuver thru the branches and easy to use off of an orchard ladder (even though the book says don't). Just keep it full of bar oil and re-charge the battery every night. Overall it seems to do what it was intended for. The pros; Its weight is mostly in the front where the chain is so all you have to do is lay it on the branch and pull the trigger. It seems pretty durable and makes short work of a tree limb. Seems to last pretty long on a battery. The cons; you should empty the oil after every use so you don’t leak oil in your car or work bench or puf a plastic bag over the chain when transporting it. The tool it comes with is just an angled regular and Allen wrench combined. To tighten the chain it requires good hand coordination in using the tool provided. The tool inserts into the chain cover and I lost the chain cover so i had to order another tool. It would be beneficial to put the chain tightener on the outside cover like most saws so your not struggling to tighten the chain. Or better yet make the allen screws into bolts so you could use any chain saw tightening tool that comes with most chain saws! It be nice if you could have made the pole saw to break down and you could just use the saw as a hand held saw like Milwaukees. Kinda makes you have to purchase another handheld saw to do this which was probably Dewalts intension to increase sales. ... show more
