I'm very late to the Li-ion battery portable tool revolution, and am glad I landed on the DeWalt 20V product line. The drill is vastly superior to my very old Bosch rechargable drill, not even considering the upgrade to hammer function, which is welcome. I appreciate the knurled metal check with its full 1/2 inch capacity and strong grip. This looks to be a drill that will carry me for well over a decade. But hey, Amazon... why are you shipping it loose in a plain brown box, with just paper manual and belt clip? If you're sending a product in the manufacturer's own packaging, make that clear to the buyer. For the record, the drill is brand-new, had no signs of use, and is labeled made in Mexico. The media could not be loaded. This Dewalt drill came in its Yellow & Black RETAIL box with belt clip and manual. I've heard some horror stories about others that ordered online and got a drill that came in a plain brown wrapper! and looked as if it had been used. The drill's build and feel say professional grade. The drill easy to carry and use all day or for a weekend DIY or home repair project. This drill is surprising it has torque like a larger drill. The 2-speed gearbox is smooth to shift between speed 1 and 2. the clutch works like its supposed to with 15 settings. the chuck is ratcheting type and ALL Metal. NOTE: This drill needs a good battery to perform! 3AH or better. I suggest a POWERSTACK, This drill loves to go through little batteries! You need this drill!! ... show more

After >22 years we replaced our corded dewalt hammerdrill with this dewalt cordless drill. Have used on two projects and impressed with the power and performance. The length of the cordless is significantly less than the old corded drill. Weight reduction is also noticeable. When drilling some holes the weight of corded drill may offer assistance with buffering the hammering effect. With the projects performed so far I am very impressed with the speed of drilling, weight of drill, battery run time, speed control, keyless chuck, and portability due to zero power cords.
