  • Orientation
I gave this chair an overall 4 out of 5 because there are definitely some positives but there also some negatives. Most of the negatives I would say are nit picky but having just completed this chair I feel its extremely important others who purchase this chair to know before they buy it. First things first the chair is 124.99 plus 19.99 so a 150 dollar chair. The packaging is very clean but the box is very heavy recommended you take the pieces up individually than lifting the whole box, but everything is covered in bubble wrap and nothing was damaged besides a few scruffs on the backrest by the screw holes to attach it to the cushion and arm covers other than that no loose threads or damage however the pillow for the lumbar came deflated and slightly odd shaped *as in the pictures above* Lets go over the cons first: Assembly: 1. Instructions, the QR code for the video brings you to a playlist on Youtube and the chair that is being shown is the Hormall Black Gaming Chair, not this one listed so the video does not help at all, the QR code to the video tutorial completely useless. 2. The instructions do not go into detail for orientation so its a bit confusing to tell which arm rest goes to what side, the best advice I can give is to face the cushion in the position you will be sitting on it in and take note of what side your right will be on and what arm rest will be on the left. Now to note each arm rest does have a sticker marked, "R" and "L" for right and left but it doesn't help much. I would like the instructions to say R here and L here to make it easier. 3. The left side attachment between the cushion and chair kept falling and it doesn't quite align with the screw holes on the left of the backrest you have to pull the bracket out and then align it in order to get the screws to match up and not further scuff the material of the backrest. 4. In order to attach the arm cover on the left and right I had to tilt the entire chair at an angle to get the allen key to apply enough pressure to screw in the screw you cannot attach these vertically unless you use a separate screwdriver as the allen key is too short. 5. The motor control tension cap gets in the way when screwing it into place with the allen key, the key physically hits the tension cap so you have to continually remove the allen key and re-attach for short motions and the orientation could be a little clearer but it does say, "Front" on it so align that with the front. The instructions do say pay attention to the direction. 6. The screw plug on the right had extra plastic on it that when you place it over the screwhole it actually warps inward taking on the impression of the hole so you can see the outline of the hole in the cover, not a huge deal but noticeable enough to be bothersome. 7. Parts: Some of the parts are very sharp, and angled to the point where if you run your hand along it wrong you can cut yourself, when assembling the arm covers trying to hold the arm bracket in place its very sharp and I actually have some minor cuts down my hands and back of my hands from these sharp parts so be careful of that. Shipping: 1. The instructions were attached to the bottom of the cushion and not easy to find so for several minutes I was left wondering if there were even instructions included but thankfully taking everything out of the box and shaking each item to check had the instructions fall out of the cushion. Would be easier to just include them with the pillow as the bag is quite large. Time: The chair with the few orientation problems I had took maybe an hour or so making sure that every item was there and no damages etc. You could probably do it within a half hour though so the time isn't a huge deal but if you're coming home late from work expect it to take a little bit. I put it together on a Saturday afternoon so I finished right at noon and started maybe around 10:30 or so Pros: 1. Aesthetics: The chair is very very good looking, I love the colors and the shapes. I am fairly tall at just over 5'10 and wide shoulders and I fit in it perfectly, I weight 180 and it sits very nicely. I love the cross pattern to it and I think it looks quite nice compared to something like the DXRacer series and this chair is much cheaper but the quality does not feel cheaper at all. 2. Pillows: The pillows are absolutely great, even with the deflation in my lumbar pillow the text is super clean, and the comfort is just right, I love being able to adjust the lumbar pillow wherever I need it and with my backproblem and my neck these pillows are very comfortable. Being able to remove them isn't too bad either, the headpillow is fantastic I like the band on it, it's stitched well and tight, and easy to install or remove, the lumbar pillow I adjusted the chair just a hair back to place the straps under the backrest and it was easy from there so that is a huge plus. 3. Armrest: The adjustable arm rest are a huge benefit and you don't think about it till you don't have the option, being able to turn the inward to better position your wrist when you type is a huge benefit and they lift pretty high which was a nice feature. 4. The Motor Control: The seat adjustment and function to tilt the entire chair nearly flat was very very nice. I adjust my sitting position constantly and I like being able to fully sit up or recline the chair as I see fit if I am relaxing or watching a movie and need the recline so being able to adjust the height at any time pretty seamlessly was an awesome thing to have. Overall thoughts and feelings: I gave the chair a 4 out of 5 because there are some nitpicks that make the experience not as simple as I expected it to be but not enough to detract from what you're getting which is a very high quality chair, it does not smell, the lettering is clean and clear, no loose threads, warning labels where you need them to be, the looks are incredibly sharp with the black and white and the red in the, "D" of Devoko is a nice touch and the pillows you get and the shipping is very quick and well packaged. I say makes a very very good chair. My biggest gripe is the 20 dollars shipping but what do you with a chair like this. If it was free shipping and you paid 124.99 only for this chair it would sell a lot more and keep it well ahead of the 150-200 plus chair range overall I would go for this one than the under hundred chair as the design is a lot nicer and the adjustable arm rest are worth the price. I am very very satisfied and I am quite the picky customer :) ... show more

  • Love it!!!!
I purchased this chair for my son, and he absolutely loves it. The colors matches the picture shown and it's very sturdy. It took a little while to built but not hard at all. 10/10

  • Overall Good For Your Money
My specific purchase was the "Devoko Racing Style Gaming Chair Height Adjustable Swivel PC Computer Chair with Headrest and Lumbar Support Leather Reclining Executive Office Chair (White)", and I have been using it for around a month at the time of this review. Pros: - Does not make excessive noise / squeaking. - Relatively sturdy but not 'stiff'. You get good solid support with enough 'wiggle' to be comfortable when making minor adjustments in your seating position. - Keeps my back straight when sitting (the main reason I replaced my old chair). The lumbar pillow is very adjustable as well and helps relieve a lot of stress on my lower back. The reclining function also allows me to relax a bit more when I'm not working/focusing on more competitive games. Cons: - The actual seat cushion is a bit stiffer than I'd like- and I like stiffer cushions to begin with. - The arm rests are awkwardly far apart, and even with the ability to turn them this does not change. I feel like they would be better off about 1" or so inwards each. The armrests also sit awkwardly low, much more noticable. They are in a decent position vertically when fully extended, but I see that as having must of it's range wasted. Things to note about the chair if considering a purchase: - I stand around 5' 5" tall and the chair itself fits me near perfectly. I would not recommend the chair for anyone taller than 5' 8" or shorter than 5' 2", at the very least if you intend to use the headrest pillow- which I personally don't because I find it uncomfortably large. - Assembling the chair was not 'difficult' but was a bit annoying as a one-person job. Some of the pieces have to be oriented in strange ways when assembling to keep them in place while putting the chair together and that can be difficult alone given the size, shape, and weight of said pieces. Also when trying to put in some of the bolts, there was fabric blocking the way. This was fixed easily by either pre-threading the bolts in and taking them back out to 'grind' away the fabric, or simply cutting the excess away. Overall: I like the chair. It does what I bought it for- keeps my back straight and relieves some of the pain. I'd like it if the headrest pillow was a bit smaller or less 'thick' so it didn't push my head forward so much, but since it's removable it's not a big deal. I honestly expected this chair to be made out of lighter, cheap materials given the price but they do not seem to skimp at all on the quality. For the price, I'm very happy with my purchase. I saved about 40-60$ on other average priced 'gaming' chairs and I feel I received the same quality if not even better. A friend did inform me that they had experiences with Devoko where the actual 'leather' material they use wears out quickly, and if I experience the same thing I will update this review to reflect that. ... show more
