Description

Color Oops Extra Strength is the safest and most effective way to reverse an undesirable hair color application. In just 20 minutes Color Oops corrects hair color by shrinking the dye molecules, allowing you to simply wash them away. Our unique formula is bleach free and ammonia free. Color Oops will not have the damaging effects of bleach or ammonia based products. Color Oops Extra Strength is so gentle that you can recolor hair the same day. Color Oops Extra Strength takes you back to your lightest shade. It will return your hair to its natural color if the artificial hair color applied is darker than your natural shade. If the artificial hair color applied is lighter than your natural color, your natural pigment has been chemically lightened and although Color Oops will remove the artificial dye from your hair, ultimately your hair will be the chemically lightened color. To go back to your natural color, it will be necessary to apply a hair colorant comparable to your own natural shade and tone.

  • Works but is very smelly (prepare the nose)
I decided to clean he canvas after my roots grew out and I got tired of my red bleeding. I bought this to remove the artificial red. I did have blonde at one point about a year ago. Not this blonde. That’s okay. It did lighten all of my hair including my roots which confuses me a little since it says it does not bleach. Still fine. I am a natural redhead so it did not go to my natural color. I am more of an auburn red not a ginger. The smell is pretty gross I have washed it like 3 times so far and with my strong salon brand shampoo that smells like cookies. This stuff stays.. the smell does. It is a mix between rotten eggs and pickles. I should have read that before I bought it so I would have been prepared. But, all things considered it really worked like a charm. I am a blonde now. ... show more

  • worked a little, i think
I didn’t expect miracles from this, since I’ve been back box dying my hair for years. I think it worked like a tiny bit? But yeah, nothing like some of the reviews, which is okay. Also, it doesn’t stink nearly as bad as everyone says. Slightly unpleasant is what I’d call it.

  • Came out as expected
I wouldn’t necessarily call this a miracle worker as others did, but it basically came out as expected. I have thick, medium brown hair that touches to the middle of my back. I have dyed and highlighted my hair multiple times in the past 3 years. I started out with some highlights, and then got sick of the lighter hair and changed to dying my hair dark chocolate brown. I kept dying my hair to keep up with the roots, and then I finally got sick of dying my hair altogether. This seemed like the way to go as spending $50 on hair products and DIY-ing it sounded better than a $300+ salon visit, and I figured I could always go to the salon if I completely screwed it up. I went through the Color Oops process twice (24 hours apart from each other just to see the results) using two boxes of Extra Strength each time for the full 20 minutes. After the first time, I could tell a slight difference however not as much as I expected. I did rinse my hair for 45 minutes in total, shampooing 3 or so times. The first time I did this I rinsed in the sink with my head bent over it…DO NOT DO THAT. My neck hurt for three days straight afterwards. The second time I did it I just rinsed in the shower which was much easier. I used an argan oil based deep conditioner afterwards each time which left my hair almost as soft as it was before. It was still kinda dark and brassy overall but definitely closer to the medium brown I began with years ago. The roots came out a completely different color than the rest of the hair, a light brown with A LOT of red in it. I assume it came out that way because the roots have only been dyed once and maybe I shouldn’t have left it on for the full twenty on my roots each time, but I thought it would be too difficult to evenly distribute the color from the roots down and not have a distinct line. So I bought a box of Foam Permanent Color in light brown (the box and everyone on here said go lighter). I put the color on my roots only and left it in for 3 minutes after I saw the color looked very dark. After rinsing, it was still lighter than the rest of my hair however there’s not as much of a distinct line and it’s less noticeable. I will recommend using John Frieda Color Glaze after this process if your hair came out too brassy. I bought the kind for cool-toned browns. I do have some red/warmth to my hair color naturally, but the glaze neutralizes the brassiness without making it look ashy (I also leave it on the roots only for a few minutes which makes the hair color seem more seamless as well). Also- the smell was not as bad as everyone was saying. I didn’t notice it at all while I was using the product. I noticed a slight eggy smell in my apartment the next day after leaving and then coming back, but a few candles and some fans rid the apartment of the scent completely within a few hours. ... show more

  • IT WORKS!!
After going through some crap I decided to color my beautiful copper hair with dark brown/black. INSTANT regret. Kept it for a few months but have progressively hated it more and more… ordered this a few weeks ago and after many hours and days debating whether to do it I FINALLY did it and I am soooo happy with my results. This did an amazing job of removing the dark color and I don’t even feel like I need to tone it. I MIGHT do a 2nd application because I bought 2 bottles anyways and only used one for my hair. Just to see if it will lighten up a tiny bit more but as of now I am incredibly happy with the way it turned out. It does feel a bit dry but I did a deep conditioner after shampooing with tea tree oil shampoo 3 times. And applied 2 different leave in conditioner treatments as well as my styling products. I love my hair again. Soooo happy I used this. I also did leave it in for one hour as opposed to the instructions of 20 minutes. I washed my hair the previous night and had not applied any type of product to it after washing. Applied to totally dry hair. Covered with bag for processing time. Love!!!! ... show more

  • Long process with decent results
This process took a LONG time. And if you don’t follow the instructions perfectly you won’t get much of a result, though it did lighten my hair a few shades. I think if you want more then a subtle change just go with real bleach. Also it came out super brassy/almost copper colored

  • Henna Hair
This actually removed a considerable amount of henna in one application. Companies tend to deny any compatibility between their products and henna due to poor regulation and possible chemical additives. I applied multiple sessions worth of henna guys pure henna before using color oops.

  • works!
been using color oops for years, and it works great every time. If you have never used it, keep your space clean and prepare to air it out as the smell gets pretty intense (rotten eggs/sulfur smell)

  • Works well
It strips red, purples, and pinks very very well to almost light blonde. Didn't do much for blue or green in my hair. It did make my head smell like sulfur until I'd washed it 3-4 times and I have short wavy above the ear length hair.
