After installing both rear brake rotors and pads then taking it for a ride around the neighborhood to test them out I heard a loud pop after braking from about 10 mph followed by grinding. Drove it home slowly and took the wheel off and find this. The whole entire braking surface separated from the top hat. A complete crack all the way around. I was able to remove the top hat/hub portion of the rotor without even taking off the caliper it was so bad. I’m glad this happened at such low speeds and just down the street from my home, I couldn’t imagine what would have happened if this occurred at highway speeds. I’m assuming this was a possible bad batch or remanufactured rotors, either way I will never be buying from Detroit axel again. I will be replacing the other rotor with a different brand and returning these. I have been doing brake jobs for years, I have never seen something like this. ... show more
