Frequently asked questions

The Power Stop KC2119-36 Brake Kit is designed specifically for Jeep models, including the Cherokee XJ, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler. It is application-specific, so it's important to verify your vehicle's year and model for compatibility before purchasing.

The carbon-fiber ceramic brake pads included in the Power Stop KC2119-36 kit offer enhanced durability and less dust compared to traditional brake pads. This makes them ideal for towing and heavy-duty applications, as they can handle high temperatures and pressures without fading, ensuring reliable stopping power.

Drilled and slotted brake rotors, like those in the Power Stop KC2119-36 kit, provide improved ventilation and heat dissipation. This design helps prevent brake fading during intense use, such as when towing or during extended downhill driving. The slots also help clear away brake dust and debris, maintaining effective contact between the pad and rotor.

While the Power Stop KC2119-36 Brake Kit is designed for ease of installation, it's recommended that someone with mechanical skills or a professional technician perform the installation. The kit includes all necessary hardware for a straightforward installation, but correct fitting is essential for the safety and performance of your vehicle.

  • Good performance. Quality parts
My TJ lost braking distance after installing 32s tires, winch, bumpers, etc. This kit improved its stopping distance closer to it's original. No noise at all on the pads. Would buy it again .

  • Works as they should
Easy to find the correct rotors that fit. Easy to use/put on a long as you know what you are doing. They are not noisy, they are a good quality from what we can tell so far. The performance is as it should be. Value for money is pretty difficult of pricing for this type of item. These were used on a late 90s Jeep Cherokee that is used for off-roading ... show more

  • Big tires are hard to stop
These were just what my Jeep needed. The bolted right up, and the red matches perfectly. My jeep now stops in the same distance as when it had 28 inch tires. Now rolling on 35s. I have power stop brakes on my truck as well. When the wife's Pathfinder needs new brakes, we will be changing to Power Stop brakes. ... show more

  • This car o barely use, only to clean it, maintenance, and on snow days
After 3 1/2 years barely using my car only in snow days, 1 pad driver side the inside wore out and scrape the rotor, the other side, passenger, still intact. Sleeves and caliper are fine

  • Will it provide a noticable improvement?
These went on a 98 XJ that has a 2 1/2 inch lift and 32 inch tires. Original brakes were functioning fine but had a "vague" feel. Looked at the WJ conversion but was put off buy the surgery needed. This seemed like an upgrade without too much hassle. The install went smooth, just pay attention to the brake pad orientation in the caliper. Clamp the brake hose off before removing banjo bolt to keep brake fluid from leaking down from the master cylinder via gravity. The test ride and break in procedure went smooth and after cool down I made a couple of panic stops, MUCH better, worth the blood and treasure. ... show more

  • Awesome Calipers and Brake Pads
Bought this for my 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Works great! Have no complaints.

  • Wrong rotor size!!
Product looks really nice. I bought the front kit for my 99 Jeep Cherokee. Came with rotors, calipers and brakes. I had a couple of issues. Bolts for caliper are metric and factory bolts are standard. Had to buy a heli-coil kit and re-tap the fittings on my caliper mount. Second issue is that the caliper that was purchased does not fit. It’s too deep and it rubs on the mount. I’ve already called customer service and the lady I spoke with needs the part # off the caliper. I informed her that it was part of the kit I purchased off amazon and read off the numbers to that but she still insisted she needs the info off the calipers. If i recall correctly, I don’t remember seeing any numbers on the box the rotors came in. If you plan on purchasing this be cautious. ... show more
