I've been looking for a good pre-shave oil for awhile now. I have a particularly thick beard. None of the oil's I've come across have been all that great - until this one. This one actually makes shaving an enjoyable experience and the beard comes right off without any problems. Great stuff.

This is the very first, Davines, Pasta & Love, product that I requested and wanted to get my husband to try. I've read & heard some really great things about the brand and their products that intriguingly sparked my interest. The smaller sized, 1.69 fl. oz, little brown glass bottle has been filled with a multi~functional oil that can be used for pre-shaving & as a beard oil. Admittedly, PASTA & LOVE printed on the top of the products label, threw me off at first glance. However, as soon as I cracked open the safety sealed twist off cap and inhaled, I immediately knew this had nothing to do with pasta but everything to do with men's grooming. Has a very nice scent that's desirable. Not too heavy nor underwhelmingly full of fake smelling perfume. It's aromatic scent is light and very enjoyable. Its scent, to my husband and I, smells like a mixture of almonds and jobaba oils with a hint of cherry. These combinations have created a beard oil that smells nice and works amazingly well to soften his beard and the skin underneath it. As directed he has used this, lightly textured oil as a pre shave oil to prepare his hair and skin. He then finishes with it, using it as a beard oil. * A LITTLE BIT of this oil GOES a VERY LONG WAYS. It only takes a few drops to condition soften and smooth his mustache in thick long curly beard wow adding just the right amount add hydration to the skin as well. *Dermatologically tested As of this review and before any taxes this multi-purpose men's beard and skin oil inky costs $26.00 for this 1.69 fl. oz bottle isn't a bad price, at all. The bottle will last him, even with our sons using occasionally, a very long time. It's a tremendously well working oil that we all recommend!

Pros: Can be used as a pre shave oil and works really well for that use! Softens hair folicle nicely Used as a beard hair oil, it moisturizes nicely Smell isn’t overbearing Very first ingredient is almond oil! Cons: Honestly, none! Other than it’s slightly pricey for 50mL Hope this was helpful!

Pros: Smells great! Everyone seems to have their own take on what the scent is, but in my opinion, I pick up the scent of grape oil most heavily. Whatever it is, it's a nice scent! It’s not overbearing by any means, it’s pretty mild, so you won’t tire of smelling it on your beard. Softens the beard noticeably. It’s a nice bottle container, especially the “spout” which is perfect in my opinion. I can invert the bottle over my palm, and nothing comes out. If I firmly dab the spout onto my palm, about a drop comes out. Need 10 drops? Dab 10 times. There’s no way to cause it to spill out too fast, which is something I like. It prevents inadvertent messes, and prevents wasted product. Cons: Absolutely none. Well, maybe the name is a little goofy, if you care about that. Verdict: I love this stuff. JUST as importantly, the ladies who get close enough notice it and seem to like it, based on their comments - and if you've got that, what more do you really need? I have been using and loving the davines Love shampoo and conditioner for a few years now so when I saw they were making a beard oil I was very excited for my husband to try this out. The scent is very earthy which may not be for everyone but my husband and I both like musky woody earthy smells so we find the scent to be very pleasing. My husband says that the oil works just as good as his more expensive oil except it’s harder to get out of the bottle. There are no directions on the bottle that I can see (they slapped a sticker across the back but even after peeling away at it I don’t see directions for use). He just used it as he does his other oil and applies this before a shave to soften and hydrate the skin under his beard. The oil my husband usually buys is $62 for 2 Oz so this is a good value compared to that and since he likes it I think we will switch over and start saving some money!
