Let me begin with a bit of backstory regarding me reasons for needing to purchase a fancy deadbolt lock such as this. I have a 13 year old son who is, for all intents and purposes, the real-life version of Dennis the Menace....on steroids. He is on the very high-functioning end of the autism spectrum, and also struggles with severe ADHD. Lastly, he is a kleptomaniac, though only within the confines of our home (so far...knock on wood). Left unsupervised for more than a minute or two, that sneaky little miscreant will make his way through the rooms of every pne pf his family members, loading his pockets full of whatever treasures he can find. This includes my husband's man-cave, which is strictly off-limits to ALL kids. This man-cave is located in a specially-built room within our garage. Also located in the garage- our storage, our tools, our junk-food pantry, and the shelf where I keep all of our soda. After a mind-numblingly endless number of heists were discovered (either by a member of the family noticing one of their belongings being missing, or me coming across one of my sons "hoard piles" while cleaning his room), I had enough! I bought a system of wireless cameras and rigged them up all over the inside of our house. I know what youre thinking- problem solved, end of story, right? NOT. I am here writing a review on a deadbolt lock, after all. While the cameras did allow me to SEE him stealing items, it did not deter the behavior. So decided to take the next step and attempt to keep him OUT of spaces he's not allowed to be in. I bought a set of 5 keyed door locks, only giving the keys to trusted family members. This seemed to work for about a week. Until he figured out where to find the keys. So what is the next step up from a keyed door handle? A deadbolt! I wanted one with an alternative security measure for entry, and this lock puppes up, with a programmable keypad. I ordered it without hesitation, and it arrived the very next morning! Because the door between my house and garage was not previously fitted with an deadbolt, I did have to drill a hole into the door, but this was an easy process that took approximately 10 minutes. I installed the lock onto the door, taking an additional 5 minutes or so. It looked great, and I couldn't wait to power it up and test it out! Therein lies my one and only complaint- it didnt come with batteries. And since I did not have any batteries on hand, i had to wait a day before setting it up so that I could go to the store after work the next day. Knowing my son would be back home (with my elder daughter providing some semblance of supervision) for several hours before I got off work, I decided to use the physical key to lock the deadbolt so that he couldn't get into the soda while I was gone. When I got home, you can imagine my shock and rage after seeing the garage door wide open and over half a case of soda missing!!!! But the lock wasn't powered on without batteries, and I had all of the keys on my person all day. How did this happen?!?! Get ready for it... That sneaky little turd saw the USB C port on the lock, went and got a USB C cable, using it to connect the lock to his laptop in order to power it up. He looked up the setup instructions for the lock, and proceeded to change the key code, making himself "admin" on the lock. Luckily, the process ro reset it and start over wasn too complicated, and I had it up and running in no time. Its been working great ever since. Cons- doesnt come with batteries. Pros- easy to install, easy-to-understand instruction manual, tje ability to create 6 or even 8-digit passcodes, which are far more secure than 4-digit ones, quality feel, high quality materials used in the manufacturing process, very sleek-looking once in place, smooth-gliding lock, seemingly great customer service team. My last tip- order 4 AA batteries at the time of your purchase so that you can set the admin code up on your new lock, straight away, whether you install the lock on your door right then and there or not. Highly recommend, considering buying more of these locks and putting them on all of our bedroom doors as well.

This could not have been any easier to install that I did it all by myself without the help of my husband who usually handles these kind of home modifications. I just scanned the QR Code that took me to the short, simple installation videos. The programing of the codes were just as easy. Each family member has their own code. This deadbolt lock is very nice looking, excellent quality, & very durable. Definitely a great product for the price!!

The installation and setup booklet was clear and made installation and setup easy to follow. The locks works great with no sticking and battery drain. It is been approximately a week and no issues so far. I think the price is right for such a look. The little screen with the menu options is very intuitive and makes it easy to adjust settings. I also like that it is possible to turn of the auto lock feature if needed.
