Since the advent of the usually cold LEDs, I've been obsessed with amber tinged lights. This is more than tinged, but it sure is awesome and perfect for my keyboard music stand. It's brighter than some of the reviews made it out to be. In this picture, the light is on the lowest setting and I wouldn't mind a little lower, but I'm in love with this thing and looking around where I can put another one lol. It's about 9 inches long at the part with the light and those are standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of printer paper on the stand for a reference. To me it's the perfect size.

It’s simple, functional, practical and capable. The features go a little beyond what’s really needed. The output is bright (72 LEDs), luckily there’s ample dim settings. The color temperature can be alternated between warm, natural and a bit cool. I like how simple this occurs. They simply alternate or combine the two different colored LEDs to get the desired temperature. The diffuser is thin, so you can see each individual LED. Not so thin that it doesn’t diffuse the light adequately, I would add. It’s partly how they get so much light output from this unit, I’m sure. There’s also a timer (I don’t use it), that turns the unit on or off at specific intervals each day. I should note, your settings are remembered when you turn. The light off. However, they are lost each time you unplug the unit. The backlit switch, unfortunately is set in the middle of the roughly 6 ft cord. I’d prefer it near the base of the light, so I know where it is and I don’t have to fish for it behind the desk. I have mine tied up to the base where it’s accessible to me. The clamp is made of sturdy painted metal and has thin pads to protect the clamping surface. It has an aggressively strong spring. The jaw opens almost 2-1/2” but I wouldn’t recommend it. I think the ideal structure to clamp to would have a maximum thickness of 1-1/2”. The 14” flexible shaft has a rubbery, tactile feel and bends (and holds!), very well. I have mine set vertically, then with the light bent at about 90º. This puts the light at about 12” from the clamping surface. Not a great deal of height, but certainly useful. The unfortunate aspect of this part, is that the shaft does not rotate on the clamp, nor does the light rotate on the shaft. Rotating the light flat (or wherever) therefore, forces the shaft in rotation as well, making it more difficult to set. All-in-all a good product, worthy of consideration, if not purchase.

The media could not be loaded. Synopsis: A great light that is plenty bright enough to light your desk. The neck is nice and stiff and won't sag over time. The clamp can't hold the light up when clamps sideways which restrict mounting options. Nonetheless, it a great addition to my desk space. Detailed Review: This desk lamp upon unboxing is very well made. The neck is nice and stiff, needing moderate effort to bend it into the position you would like. Which is reassuring that it most likely won’t sag or lose its position. It never did in my use case. The clamp feels strong and when you clamped on top of something, the clip being vertical, it stays pretty well even when adjusting it. Unfortunately when you clamp it to the side of something, the clamp just isn't strong enough to prevent rotating down, sagging and eventually coming unclipped and falling off. A moderate inconvenience which limits the mounting options for this light. The unit is just too heavy for the clamp when horizontal. The switch on the lamp is simple and straightforward. Each button has its own symbol representing the function that it does. 30 seconds of messing around with each button you learn really quickly what each one does without reading the instructions. The light on the controller isn't bright at all so when the unit is off it doesn't shine distractingly. As for the light itself, it works as advertised. It has three different white balances, cool white, warm white and natural white. You'll notice that cool/warm white are a little bit dimmer at max than natural white. That is because with natural white you get all the LEDs lit up at the same time. most likely making it the more preferred color option for the noticeable brightness increase. The brightness of the LEDs lights up a desk well. I was using it as a light for when I was soldering small circuits and it performed great. It's not too bright either where it actually hurts your eyes at its max setting. It has 4 different brightness levels which is a great option to have as well. Overall I'm happy to have this desk lamp clamped to the backside of one of my monitors lighting up the work portion of my desk. A welcomed addition to my workspace. . Color: 1600K - Amber LED Light
Well this is unique. I have reviewed a handful of monitor lights for LCD's and portable lamps with batteries as well as ceiling lamps and basic floor lamps. This is unique because it is the first "Amber" light I have reviewed. This is not comparable at all to "Warm" LED, this is on the verge of Orange / Orange + Red light. Build quality wise this is great. The clamp is solid and the neck is flexible but at the same time sturdy, you can really get it into very specific positions and it will not bend / move out of that position. The buttons on the cord are less quality, mine already had some of the paint that makes up the icons on them falling off (for the power button). Love that it just needs a USB port to work and is quite bright (almost blinding) at it's highest level. I love warm light, I use warm lights all over my house and all of my lamps are warm light. This is for sure not warm lighting and at first it felt almost harsh, but after a few hours (and turning it down to it's lowest setting) I am warming up to the amber light it puts out. Not good for screens (like laptop or tablet reading) but more or less good for reading physical items like books and papers. Knocking off a star because the product picture shows this being used with a laptop and I do not think that this is good for that at all (it was what I wanted to use it for).
