Description
Transforms and softens hard, sunbaked deposits into a soft paste that brushes off and rinses away with ease. Softens lime and calcium build-up, removes water spots and rust from glazed tile, metal, acrylic, and fiberglass surfaces common to swimming pools and spas. Cleans and shines metal handrails and fixtures including copper, aluminum, brass, chrome, and stainless steel without fumes or harsh mineral acids. Directions: Apply Descale-It Pool & Spa Cleaner and allow to work 30 - 45 minutes, then brush and rinse. Repeat application, if necessary. Note, DO NOT use on unglazed tile, PebbleTec, wood concrete or natural marble. Not recommended for use on colored grouts, unless properly sealed

Best Descaler Ever

Can’t remember if I wrote a review on this product or not, if I haven’t I’m sorry. Way back…almost forty years ago maybe more a hardware store that I would shop had this stuff up on a shelf. I told the store manager about these houses I work on, for a property manager, has really bad hard water deposits on faucets, shower doors, sinks and anywhere the city water would leave its trail. Shower doors were the worst. I live in Phoenix Arizona and the water is extremely hard. Next day I had two houses to get ready for showings. I brought the shower doors outside so I could lay them flat, I was quite sure this was going to take a while. Sprayed both doors on one side then left to work on something else. Five minutes later I walked by the shower doors and there was a powder on the doors. I took a dry rag and brushed the glass, I couldn’t believe the results. Had to flip the doors over to do the other side. Waited a bit then rinsed the doors off. A couple more spots that I missed the first time and the doors looked like new. The next things we tried were the faucets, tub, shower, lavatory and kitchen faucets. All the hard water deposits were gone. Unfortunately the water had taken its toll and had eaten away at the metal, this was the calcium that had eaten the metal not the Descale-it. I had been out of the business of refurbishing homes for some time. Retired now and working on my own stuff. Misting nozzles, pool tile and good old Descale it. Be sure to read the instructions. Hope this helps you folks with hard water.

Kind of works

I've used other products once a year to descale my pool tile. Some better than others. Best was a gel type that really worked. This one kind of works with enough applications and scrubbing. Just OK.

Descale-It plus a bit of elbow grease does the trick

My pool water got out of balance and I had a mess of scale in a about a week. Gotta keep tabs on that water! Descale-It has done a great job of removing it. It does require some elbow grease for the tougher spots (scratch-free sponges and plastic bristle brushes). Like other reviewers noted, when you spray it on, it goes to work. Bubbling and fizzing. I did find that for my grout, which is a bit dark but not actually colored, the dissolved scale will get into the grout and leave it gray/white when it dries if all I use is a sponge. However, if I follow up with a stiff bristled brush and plenty of water, it pulls that busted-up scale right out.

Test in a small spot before using.

Turned my ceramic pool tiles chalky white. Noticed it quick enough to scrub it off. Also turns grouting. White. Used in past and had great success. Maybe just a bad batch of chemical. Returned.

Amazing product
Size: 32 FL Oz
This stuff is amazing. I have a dark dark blue smooth fiberglass pool that was white and clouded above the water line, I didn’t even follow the directions and let it sit on the surface, instead I sprayed it on a washcloth and wiped the surface and it immediately removed all the white cloudiness from the surface. Looks brand new again.

It helps, but it isn't a wonder product.

When I received the bottle, it was wrapped in a bag containing much of the liquid that should have been in the bottle. Not so great. Spraying it on some tiles helped remove some of the scale. It isn't perfect, and it took multiple applications to get half-decent results. If your scale isn't so bad, hit it right away; I may have waited too long.
