Beautiful faucet. Works great and looks and feels like a high end faucet. This replaced a 15 year old Delta faucet that eventually wasn't worth repairing. Installing this is NOT hard if you are reasonably handy. You need no special tools. A screwdriver, a hex wrench and a weird little wrench for one nut, which is included. The instructions are a case study in how to convey information with as few words and images as possible. However, they are entirely complete with no more or less than is needed. The images are very small. I suggest that you download the instructions as a PDF, and look at them on a full size monitor. If you "get it", proceed, if you don't, call a plumber. Also, be sure that you can physically reach the area under the sink AND you can remove the old faucet! BEWARE that older faucets sometimes require special tools to turn the mounting nuts and they might be rusted in place. Pro tip: turn off the hot and cold shut off valves before removing the old faucet and make sure they completely shut off the water by watching if your old faucet drips with the valves closed. Old valves sometimes won't close completely. You must know this before removing the old faucet. ... show more

I recently purchased and installed the "Delta Faucet Kate Single-Handle Kitchen Sink Faucet with Pull Down Sprayer, Soap Dispenser and Magnetic Docking Spray Head, Chrome 16970-SD-DST", after purchasing on Amazon through Delta. See attached pictures. The new Delta replaced an old Price Pfister Avalon Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet. The kitchen sink is double basin stainless steel (fairly thin material) and has 4 holes. The new Delta Kate faucet only required 3 of the 4 holes since the sprayer pulls down from the main faucet, instead of a separate sprayer (I ordered a Tatuo Sink Tap Hole Cover Kitchen Faucet Hole Cover Stainless Steel 1.2 to 1.6 Inch in Diameter to cover the 4th hole) as can be seen in the pictures on the far right side. If you are installing the Delta Kate faucet in a thin material sink like stainless steel, you will need the stabilization / isolation plate (not included in the $160.00 faucet box / parts) I was able to find and order the stabilization plate "Delta part number RP37490" from Amazon as well. This is a thick piece of plastic with 3 holes that goes under the stainless steel sink to "firm up" and help distribute the weight / sturdiness of the Delta faucet being installed on top. (I attached a picture under the sink showing the stabilization plate-- 3rd picture showing black plate). Not to say you cant install this faucet without it, but the faucet may bend the thin stainless steel without it. If you war installing this faucet in garnet or quarts counter top, the plate is not necessary (as that type of sink / material is fairly thick and sturdy to begin with). Overall, I am happy with the faucet so far-- the install was fairly easy (about 45 min for me), once the old faucet was removed (honestly think it took me more time to remove the old faucet then install the new one). The install instructions are sometimes hard to follow (no overall parts list with pictures), and the instructions cover several different models of faucet (so some steps apply to the Delta Kate model, and some do not). The hot/cold water connection hoses from the Delta faucet are about 2 feet long and like a PVC/Rubber bendable material (which you can shorten if required). I would point out that the 2 water connection hoses from the Delta faucet are 3/8" and can connect directly to your hot/cold water lines if they have 3/8" fittings. (if your water line connections are a different size, you may need adaptors). Overall I am satisfied with the Delta faucet and the install. My recommendations to Delta: I would like to see the Stabilization plate packaged with the faucet or perhaps during checkout (recommend that for stainless steel sinks the stabilization plate should also be added/purchased). Perhaps make the soap dispenser pump handle metal as the facute and water control handles (as opposed to plastic, as soap dispenser plastic handle seems like it could easily break or crack if it gets hit when cleaning a large pot or pan). Consider making the water connection lines with braided flexible water hose connecters. Organize install instructions by specific faucet model so the steps are followed in a logical order. (currently there are multiple steps inter mixed like step 2a, b and c but step b and c apply to a different Delta faucet model etc... some steps refer to removing the water aerator from the faucet end, and the box includes a tool to do this. However, the Delta Kate model does not have an aerator in the end of the faucet-- since this model has a retractable magnetic docking spray head). I bought the Delta faucet (as opposed to lower cost brands) for quality and lifetime warranty. So please keep the quality to a high standard. I would rather pay a few more dollars for a better quality product, and do not want to replace the faucet for 20 or 30 years :) ... show more

The instructions are terrible. There should be a specific instruction sheet for the the exact model not multiple models.. And there should be separate instructions for each language. The layout of the instructions are on one large page double sided with very little detail and missing steps and with several languages on the same thing its extremely hard to find the next step. The instructions refer to a letter that is associated with a part but none of the parts are labelled. I would not but another Delta just because of the instructions. It took us hours to put it together for all the reasons above. Hopefully the thing works for a long time. ... show more

Installation was pretty straightforward, the fit and finish looks good, temperature control is ok. After installing this at the start of November 2022, I’ve observed two things that, had I been aware of when purchasing, I may have purchased a different product. The first thing I noticed, shortly after install, was that the sprayer allows one to change from a distributed spray to single stream flow. The faucet that this one replaced, had the capability to also turn water on and off at the pullout sprayer, which made it easy/convenient to start and stop water flow at the container being filled outside of the sink rather than having to hold the pullout with one hand and operate the faucet handle with the other. I’d become accustomed to that “convenience” feature with my last faucet, and the habit has been challenging to unlearn. If you’ve not had that feature on a previous faucet, you’ll probably not think about it. The issue that has developed over the last few months that is of more concern, is that the tap can drip unless closed in a small range of positions rather than wherever you press the handle straight down. This is an annoyance that I’d rather not be experiencing perpetually. If this needs maintenance to address after only 4 months of use, I question the design and/or quality of components integrated into the faucet. ... show more
