  • Remote control?
I’m giving the remote control a 5 because IF we have one (if we do, I’ve misplaced it), I’m sure it works like the rest of this heater — which is really great! This heater is small, lightweight, and esthetically pleasing. It appears to be solidly made. We bought it to heat a small pop-up camper and it does a fantastic job. When we are connected to shore power, we turn the heater on and we’re toasty in no time. We’ve only used it down to 32 degrees, but it was certainly up to the task at that temperature and I suspect it will work like a champ well below that temperature too. The thermostat works well in the heater, turning the unit on when the temp drops below the digital setting and shutting it off when it reaches temperature. The heater is quiet, oscillates smoothly when we select that mode, and despite being run in pretty cold temperatures and throwing out a lot of heat, the unit itself doesn’t appear to get super hot. We’re very happy with this heater and take it with us whenever we hit the road. ... show more

  • Absolute garbage
We owned a prior version of this heater from about 12 years ago. The former version was a wonderful, reliable little heater with no bad smells and an accurate thermostat. It gave us many years of good service until one day it wouldn't turn on. Without question, we decided to replace it with the same. We rely on supplementary heat to keep our daughter's room which is also the tarantula room a consistently warmer temperature than the rest of our home in winter for our 8-legged friends. Immediately on receiving this heater and testing it, we noticed a bad plasticky burning smell. This is not unusual for modern products, and I hoped running it in an unconditioned space would burn the bad smell out. We bought the heater last spring and fortunately didn't need it because it warmed up soon after, but when fall came this year, we realized that running it the prior spring for a few hours hadn't remedied the nasty smell; it took us two weeks of daily running it before the smell was tolerable. Of course, at this point we were well out of the return period, which is a shame because already this was a dealbreaker for me. I don't want a heater that gasses our child or our pets. Gross. After a couple of weeks of running it for many hours per day in our outbuilding, we decided the smell had abated enough and we were kind of desperate with nights getting in the 20's, so we brought it indoors. This is when we discovered that the thermostat is absolute garbage. Today, for example, we are going through a warm spell. We keep secondary thermometers all over my daughters room. They are reading 72-73 degrees. The heater is set on 65 degrees and WON'T. STOP. RUNNING. The last bit that I will add is that our old heater felt like a solid piece of machinery. This thing is extremely light, and oddly shaped. Feels like you could knock it over with a feather light touch. I really don't like this heater. I wish we hadn't bought it. It is clearly made with inferior materials from the lightweight cheap plastic that offgasses when the heater is running to the dysfuntional thermostat. What a shame DeLonghi. I can't imagine any other reason to break something that didn't need fixing aside from greed. The price certainly hasn't gone down since we bought our original DeLonghi heater, to the contrary we paid more for this one. However, DeLonghi’s pockets I’m sure have grown much fatter as they cut corner and jack the price up. ETA: On a recent night with the heater set at 66, my daughter woke up to find her room a sweltering 80+ degrees. The heater was still running. Fearing for our daughter’s safety we replaced it with a Vornado VMH500 Whole Room Metal Heater. It’s a few bucks more, but can you really put a price on safety? I highly recommend. As for DeLonghi, we tried to contact them about their dangerous heater. 40 minute hold time. The rep we spoke to said she’d pass it to their safety department. Safety department emailed me and directed me back to the original customer service line. Horrible product, horrible service, no safety standards. DeLonghi will never get a dime of our money again. ... show more

  • Overall pretty good
Overall this is a pretty good heater. The one I received does have annoying beeps when I turn it on or shut it off. Heats pretty well. The fan is somewhat loud, but tolerable. I like that it has a visible digital temperature display.

  • Great purchase
This is our second heater from this company. Same heater just newer model. Our first one last several years (3-4 years). We use it every night from November- until the weather changes so all winter. We went to our previous orders and ordered again, but as mentioned the newest model. Great little heater. As with any heater, we do not allow it to run unattended. Our previous model did not have a remote, which is a nice little addition. It runs quickly and does not interfere with sleep. Super easy to use. ... show more

  • Compact size heater that really works, but unnecessary annoying BEEPS
UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: After 1 year of using this during the winter months, the thermostat no longer works. It’s set to 68° F, but the heater stays on. I tried setting it to 62° F, even though I know the room is warmer, but the heater keeps going. It still heats up the room fine, but cannot rely on it shutting off automatically anymore. Taking off another star from my previous review. So now only 3 stars. PREVIOUS REVEIW 10/2020: This heats up a big room really fast. Having a remote control is convenient (batteries included). The fan on "1" setting is pretty quiet, on "2" it is a little louder but not at all annoying. My previous ceramic heater sounded like a low flying airplane on "HI" It's ironic though that Delonghi touts its silent operation and that it's 50 percent quieter, but has really loud BEEP BEEPS everytime you push a button. You can hear it from other rooms in the house. So I took one star off this review because the beeps are loud and irritating. Also, there is no where on the heater to store the remote when not in use. I could see me losing the remote very easily. There is also a slight chemical smell when I use it. I'm hoping it will go away after a while. ... show more

  • Slight click plastic noise when rotating but great heat
This heater puts the heat out. It is quiet and you will hardly know its running. A minor plastic click when rotating but not that loud. Good room heat.
