Boy, did I hem and haw about what AC to get!! I knew I wanted a De'Longhi portable AC. They are top of the line. I kept reading review after review. And as humans we tend towards the negative. The noise, the leaking, the bulk..etc etc. No one seemed to give an honest review. This machine is brilliant!! It's not loud at all. Probably the equivalent of a fan. Not bad at all. I even had to rig it up with extra Amazon panels bc I have it in a room with a sliding glass door, and there were no issues. Took maybe 5 minutes tops. It works beautifully. I know it's a lot of money and that's why I was looking for an honest review. The facts are that this AC works amazing. The bedroom it is in has a sliding glass door and an attached bathroom. It cools the room so quickly. Within 5 minutes the room is cold. It also has a fan mode. Which circulates the air quite nicely. It has a dehumidifier but I can't speak to that function as I live by the beach so I don't need that function. As far as drips, water, anything like that, nothing. Mine hasn't leaked, dripped, nothing. It is sitting right on the carpet, no worries. I haven't had to drain it or anything. But we have no humidity in San Diego. It comes with a big plastic straw to let water out. Again, I have no needs there. The only thing I wish it did have was the temperature reading on the unit. I don't know what the temperature is. My last DeLonghi had that feature. This unit is smaller than the last one as well. But it is more powerful. The remote works great. I can even use it in the dark, it's easy and really responds to the unit. You will love this machine. It has all you need and COOLS THE ROOM. 😎 ... show more

First thing, throw the hose and window vent kit in the trash and buy replacements on Amazon ….. or even better, buy materials at your local DIY store to build your own ….. the hose is a 5.9, so that should help in finding the right parts …. This does not compare to the equivalent window mounted AC unit in BTU’s, but everyone should know that ….. this portable AC is quiet ….. at the equivalent fan speed, it is much, much quieter than a window unit ….. Bedroom is 250 sq feet, with a walk in closet ….. this easily cools the room, even with the hot air sitting just above the room in the attic ….. we turn it on about an hour before bed, and the room has cooled to a comfortable 71 degrees on a 95 degree night ….. …believe it or not, during the night, the room will get uncomfortably cold unless the timer is used …. The remote is just so-so, as it doesn’t have a backlight …. Which is a bone-head design oversight….. It is heavy …. I think I remember 70lbs or so …… and feels like it being as bulky as it is ….. Unless you live (I’m going to use Virginia on down to Georgia as an example), it will not need draining ….. we live in Colorado and the need to drain an AC is just nonsense….. I think it’s worth the price ….. about average with its peers ….. It will be delivered outside of the normal Amazon carriers….. and mine took 3 days ….. it was delivered to the front of my garage door, you know , where the porch pirates hang out …… and it was placed on its side …… I let it stabilize for about 20hrs or so before use ….. feel free to stabilize as you see fit …… but there is a tag on it to do so ……. Take all the reviews from ‘vine reviewers’ with a grain of salt …… take a look at their profiles and you’ll see they about never give anything a less than 5 star review …… only look at the average Joe-blow reviews and make up your mind …..remember that people tend to complain more so than they praise….. so me, giving this a 5 based on performance and bang for the buck is out of the norm ….. It’s a very good product….. if you have a 300 sq ft or greater room, shed, or whatever, look for something with a higher BTU rating …… ... show more

Works well high wild and very cold air. but 2 problems 1. fixed vent output so you have to turn the unit to change direction. 2 I have a 5" round vent thru my wall to vent. This unit has 6 " vent; my old DeLongi had 5 " so I had to buy a steel 6" to 5" adapter at Home Depot HVAC section. The adapters Amazon sold did not work for me. Delongi customer service said I was on my own to adapt and had no usable ideas. Only has widow vent adapter. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It cools our 777sf apartment easily. I returned another brand because it was way too loud. This can be used in a bedroom or tv room without a problem. It cools quickly and is easy to use. The only downside is that the fitting from the hose to the unit is an odd size that is difficult to find, it has four tabs. It has to be ordered from the manufacturer. I wanted a second attachment to make moving from living room to bedroom easier. ... show more

It's noisier than I'd like, but what I really wish is that it wouldn't shut off even when not on Auto. When it reaches the desired temp the cooling stops and the fan kicks in, but that eventually shuts off. When the unit kicks in again it wakes me up, so I can't use it at night.

When the AC in our duplex went out, we started looking to replace it. The price of a major replacement was quite high, and it has been very slow to get estimates. Since our furnace was out for 3 months (Nov-Feb) we decided we needed a quick fix due to a hot summer. A friend helped me install in one of the duplexes and we have used it for 4 days. It has really made the 600 sq ft apt. quite comfortable. It is quiet and easily fit into the living room. It came with good instructions and equipment.
