The PC was stated to be ready for gaming but it needed updating of drivers and other memory added once I did that so far it's working great it may play basic games but you have to update it to do anything like what I play is Red Dead redemption speed is amazing on the game 65 per second. I had to switch to DirectX 12 however because it kept going black screen and crashing. It does not have Nvidia video card either but amd radeon 6400 which is better than the Nvidia they had in description. The lights that go in front were disconnected which is fine I did not want those lights anyways. I did have to do a lot to it but its working fairly well . **update** Decided to send it back. No way to update drivers with the windows 11 on it since the model number on dell says its not able to use windows 11. Its installed with no support on the machine. It froze up no matter what I did. The amd radeon was to powerful for the gpu. Just a headache tryin to make this be a gaming pc as advertised. It is not. It would be good for work however. It is fast otherwise. So I bought this as my first PC since i am always on a budget, and i usually only play esports titles and use software that isnt demanding for low end pcs. Ive had it for just about a month now and this has been my experience so far: The specs on this PC fully matched the product description on Amazon. Core I7-6700 cpu and GTX-1050ti gpu, old hardware sure, but more than good enough to play esports titles, older triple A Games, and even some newer games on low settings. I am able to consistently get 120+fps in both Overwatch2 and Valorant on low settings with no stutters and very minimal frame drops. (Even with apps running in the background like Discord, Spotify, and OBS.) It can even run The Witcher 3 on high settings at 60+fps which i was very impressed by. When it comes to video rendering and digital art, I was able to use DaVinci Resolve and Krita very easily with very little buffering or visual stuttering, rendering HD videos and even 4k footage at a reasonable pace. However some more demanding effects and filters WILL cause the hardware to show its age, but thats to be expected. So far, even with one single exhaust fan and a tiny cpu cooler, Ive ran into no over heating at all, even when pushing the limits of the hardware. Which again, i was kinda surprised at. The peripherals that come with the PC however, are the only disappointment, but since you’re basically getting them for free, you cant really complain. M+K are both STG Aubron brand peripherals that are more than serviceable for anything that isn’t competitive fps games. However if you play esports games, you’re gonna wanna upgrade these asap lol. Overall, i am more than impressed with this PC and the refurbishing team at Amazon. I couldnt find better value for this price point anywhere else, and im glad i settled on this one. If you see one of these refurbished Optiplex-style PCs on Amazon with specs that match your needs, and you dont mind that it looks likes the PC your grandparents still use, I say go for it.     • Please read If beeping noises when you first start it up!
I got this computer expecting it to be janky and glitchy but it actually works very well. The only problem I ran into was when I first turned it on, it kept making beeping noises and I found out that’s because of the graphics card, but don’t worry there is a solution 😁. You have to open the bad boy up, take the card out (AFTER YOU TURN YOUR COMPUTER ALL THE WAY OFF), turn it on but spam F3 till it opens the bios, once your in there look for the “video” tab, then it should have an option for primary display, click that, then click the one all the way at the bottom. Once you do all that turn your computer all the way off using the button on the computer, (DO NOT TURN OFF USING THE WINDOWS START BUTTONS) , then plug your graphics card back in your computer, then, turn your computer on, do the login steps and such. Once your logged into your computer go to your start menu and there should be a Nvidia controls panel app, click that and then scroll to “Configure Surround, PhysX” then click the drop down in the “PhysX settings” and click “Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti”. Once you do all this it should work. If it does not work go to your browser, search “Nvidia app”, download it, make an account, and it should work after that.     • Hacked together windows 10 computer
Hacked together windows 10 computer. Shady practices. The seller doesn't mention that these computers aren't win 11 compatible. I had to reload windows and discovered this. I asked STG to assist with a fix but, they wanted me to send it back at my own expense for a replacement. I won't spend more just so I can have the same computer. I asked for a windows 11 compatible replacement and the options they offered were a significant downgrade in equipment. I offered to meet them in the middle on a comperable machine and they refused only offering a refund if I pay to ship it back. They're not transparent in their marketing or negotiations. Trying to cheap out on service by demanding I pay shipping. I don't trust them. I would have been happy if they just helped me fix it. I'm gonna load Linux on it instead. Baling wire and Duct-taped computer masquerading as a modern desktop. The second star is only because it hasn't burned out yet. I will amend to 1 star when it does. ... show more
