It turned on. It showed the temperature in the room, as well as, the humidity. The humidity level NEVER went below 66 and hardly had any water even after a hot shower. Some of the reviews I looked prior to purchasing stated the same thing but I gave it chance anyway. The reviews stating it doesn't work as described were on point. Also, just a side note: when you make a return at Staples please make sure the transaction goes through because I had returned this to Staples for a return to Amazon and it stated the item was NOT returned. Always check the status.

This little dehumidifier is wonderful, it has filled up twice within a week and a half in our bedroom where we have a bad humidity problem, and once in the same time for our living room, so you can tell that it does exactly what it needs to do. We have an 850 sq ft cabin and I’ve brought it from one end of the house to the other just to make sure we get the whole thing although I’m not sure I need to, but our issue is mildew so I want to make sure it’s gone. Once the filling up slows down a bit I will leave it permanently in the center room. We love that it tells you the percentage of humidity of the room along with the current temperature, and the little ambient light that changes makes it nice to look at. The night mode keeps it very quiet and turns the light off although neither of those things are loud or bright enough to really bother us when we are sleeping. It’s easy to remove and dump the water out when full and as I said before, if it is very humid, the water will fill up pretty quickly, so you know it’s going a good job! It’s tiny which we wanted given it’s a small cabin, but it packs a big punch! Overall, really happy with our purchase!

Returning this dehumidifier. My bedroom is 200 square feet and I ran this for two solid days. It barely reduced the humidity and had a trickle of water in its collection bucket. It’s cheaply made and the controls are pretty much useless. On/off and a button to change the color of the lights - which I could do without. The only positive is it’s quiet.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this dehumidifier. I don’t have a point of reference, as this is the first dehumidifier I’ve ever owned, but it works extraordinarily well. It’s also highly intuitive. You just turn it on and once the water collects in the tray you dump it out. Clean up is easy and maintenance is low. Definitely recommended!

Have had them out a little over a week in my living room and master bedroom 400 sq. Ft and 250 sq ft. Humidity was 68 when I put them out and it’s still 68. They have only collected about half a tank of water in a week also. They do turn on and act like they’re working so I didn’t give 1 star, but they definitely do not dehumidify really at all.

This compact dehumidifier does the job. I bought it for our guest bathroom, and it has been keeping it dry even during showers. It's easy to use. I gave 4 stars because the noise level is noticeable. I would not rate it as "quiet".

Returning. I purchased this one to replace my old 2500sqft Dehumidifier in my RV. Hoping to save on weight since my old one weighs 30 pounds. this one is only 6. I got it, turned it on and at 70% humidity not a single drop of water within an hour of run time. This is ridiculous. Turned it off, threw it in a box for a return and turned my old one. Within minutes my old one was pouring water into its bucket like its raining and dropped the humidity to 45%. So do yourself a favor, get a legit dehumidifier. This one is junk and an e waste.
