This curtain is truly great, inexpensive, and does everything it says it will do! We have a home with a few very odd sized windows, some of which are in the room I use as a food pantry. It gets quite warm in summer, which is bad for the quality of stored food. I looked at hanging blackout curtains, but they were not really suitable. I saw this roll of blackout shade material, with a silver coating to help reflect sunlight and heat, and ordered the 118" x 57" roll. My thought was to basically cut to fit the windows that needed covering. Hubby had the fabric cut and affixed to the pantry windows in litereally no time flat. Now, the kit includes Velcro to attach to the window or frame so that the material can be removed. We did not need that option, so it was more or less permanently affixed. My bedroom window was also easy for Hubby, just cut to size, and because it was not to be permanent, the Velcro was used. Perfect. The silver side reflects heat and light, and the black side prevents literally any light from coming through. I see so many possibilities with this roll! It could be affixed to a window at the top, slightly at the bottom, and rolled up! Anything is possible. We are very thrifty and saving money is a priority, so not having to buy expensive fixtures is a real bonus here. The polyester is heavy and durable, and very versatile. It is easy to cut and place. Hubby and I both recommend this blackout fabric without hesitation, and its use can only be held back by your imagination! Wow!

Works best in conjunction with an existing curtain. -- TL/DR begin -- Bare bones packaging with minimal documentation. Silver on outside and black on inside. Vice versa doesn't make sense as the former would reflect sun away. I 'winged it' on installation. Window frame measured 46.5" square so I cut to dimensions. Adhered four Velcro strips, with soft end toward frame, one at each corner of upper/lower track. I removed the tape liners, one at a time, and affixed the blackout from top left to bottom left working clockwise. It can then be adjusted by removing and re-seating the material. A tiny amount of light escapes around the very edges. The window can be opened with product in place but it wouldn't make sense to do so. Material durability is unknown but extremely thin. I suspect it wouldn't hold up to cat claws or anything else that might puncture it. No assessment marks found on product or packaging. -- TL/DR end -- Very effective though not exactly easy to install. Worth the hassle.

The media could not be loaded. The sun shines so strongly on this room during the summer and my kids have trouble going to bed. This was the best solution. The room immediately darkened after installation. It was super easy to set up. The fabric is thick and good quality which made it easy to cut. The stickers are also easy to put on. You get two shapes of adhesive stickers. The rectangular ones have velcro in the center and are easy to adjust. The round ones are just double sided stickies and I used them to stick down in between if light was still filtering through. I had more than enough stickers left after I installed this over two windows. The effect is so good the room is dramatically darker. I also had no issues with the fabric shifting so it is very stable once installed.

I love this product for my video work. I work from home and have a large window in my home office (which is great - except for when I am doing video work). It was easy to size and trim. The adhesive stays attached to the window frame and is invisible unless you are close to the window. The black film effectively blocks light from coming in and is easy to put in place and remove. Excellent product. While I received this for a Vine review, I would buy the product in for future window covering needs.

These truly keep the light out. They are easy to install and one can even be lazy with the installation and only secure the top of the window letting the curtain drape down and they will still block out the light. The downsize is you are only getting one window covered nicely with the large size , if you are going for the thermal feature. The material is easy to cut and can piece together to cover any remaining windows.

I have vertical blinds and also curtains to block out light, but I still see lights, so when I saw this product: it seem like a good fit for my problems with a dark room. I like these stick on shades as I check with a light source...it does block out any light through. Being able to cut to size and stick it onto the window means I can block all the light I want and still have the option to open the window to let air or light through when I want it. It's a bit weird to have this type of product on a window...but it's the best solution for renters as you can remove it pretty quickly without damage when needed.
