I got this to run an ice machine in my truck for long trips. This did the job quite nicely! My Ice machine draws 100Watts when the compressor is running, and about 500Watts to get the compressor started for a few seconds. I wanted a pure sine wave inverter as I do not know how the compressor in my ice machine would like a modified sine wave. I tried the smaller version of this, and while I was able to get it to work, it was showing a warning, so I thought I better go with the larger version. This one comes with much heavier cables, and like the smaller version, it's important to have a high current connection to the battery. I decided to use a separate battery in the back of my truck to power this and use the 30Amp Auxiliary power available to re-charge the separate battery while the truck was running. This way I can make ice when I go on a local job and will only be a few hours, the second battery can keep my ice machine going without any risk of not being able to start my truck. I used this on a long trip, with a total of 40 hours of driving, and it really worked great! I also used it on some local jobs, and it was very nice to come out to my truck and have nice cold ice water. This cuts off when the battery drops below 10 volts, so I can just let it drain the extra battery and let it cut out if I forget about it, it won't keep trying to run until the battery is so dead it can't be charged anymore. I also like how the fan doesn't run unless it is needed, it saves wear and tear on the fan bearings and it's quieter that way. Edit: I was reading other reviews about this and some claim this is not a sine wave inverter, so I thought I don't want to give a 5 star review if this advertised as Pure Sine Wave and it is not, SO I went to verify this claim on my own, since I am an electronics engineer with a bachelor's degree and over 3 decades of experience, and of course I have many oscilloscopes, I am more than qualified to make this test. So I used a soldering iron as a load, since it is mostly a resistive load, and hooked up the test, using a fully charged battery and connecting only the battery to the inverter, and then plugging in the soldering iron, and hooking up my x10 probe to the line output, and of course hooking up ground to neutral, which I can do because this is entirely floating as the battery has no connection to ground, and I was astonished then right there on my Oscilloscope screen was an undeniable SINE WAVE!!! It's NOT a modified sine wave at all, it's a pretty good PURE SINE WAVE. It has a few minor glitches in it as you can see in my photo, but for the price, it's pretty darn good, and those glitches can't possibly make any difference at all, especially in anything like a computer that does not directly use the AC anyway, it's all rectified and regulated to DC so the exact shape of the sine wave could not ever make any difference at all, and in fact the sine wave provided by this is CLEANER than the sine wave provided by my utility company! There is a simple way that an oscilloscope can show what looks a square wave... when the input is a sine wave... if you forget to switch the probe to x10 then in fact since you would be then exceeding the voltage capacity of the oscilloscope, you will get some kind of square wave on your display... but there is NO Way to make a scope display a sine wave when there isn't one. Also modified sine wave inverters do not produce a square wave, it's a positive square pulse then a negative square pulse, and that's not what was being shown.

i used this in building a power box / solar generator,,, used a 100 amp hour battery to power this inverter, during power outages im able to run my pc, my satellite internet, and a camera security system with a24 inch monitor,,,,,, i can easily get 6 hours plus out it,so the inverter is sized properly and works properly and has been doing so,,, for at least a year now,,,,, impressed on how much AC power comes out of a 600 watt inverter,,,,,, i will pass on what i was told...... what ever size inverter you need? spend the extra money and buy a "pure sine wave" inverter, they just do better all the way from your power source to the power consumer,,,,, its just that much better for todays electronics

I have a 1500 watt inverter, it will not power my electric blanket, it is not a pure sine wave. This inverter works fine to power my king size electric blanket. 160 watts. The cord is a little under sized. I replaced it with #10 wire. Our power went out, I used this invert all night long, my voltage on the single 122 amp hour deep cycle battery was down from 12.4 to 12.2 by the morning. I use my deep cycle battery for emergency lighting in four rooms, power my wife's electric recliner and run our 60 inch TV. We have power outages 3 to 4 times a year where I live. If the power remains down, I can charge my battery with the alternator from my car. A disconnect switch is needed to remove the engine battery from the cars electrical system after you start the car. I used a relay but a simple switch is better. Disconnecting the engine battery will cause the cars charging system to see the shore power battery only. It gets the full charge it can take. I got 50 amps for 2 minutes, then it dropped to 30 amps. I ran my car at an idle for 20 minutes for a test. It worked fine. I am ready for a cold night. It feels good. Inverter 60 bucks switch $13.00, wire $20.00, battery $90.00 at Walmart ($185.00 + blanket King 95.00 = $280.00). We had the battery, wire and the king size blanket allready. Our cost about $95.00

I ordered the 600W inverter to use with a 100 Ah battery to charge cell phones and possibly run small items while camping in my 5th wheel. The original unit did not work properly so I contacted the seller through Amazon. They responded quickly to help assess the problem. After determining that the unit was faulty, they sent me a replacement. It works perfectly for my needs to charge cell phones. My battery meter shows about a .3 amp draw with no load and less than 2 amps when charging my phone (the fan doesn't kick on). The inverter is mounted in the storage area of my trailer and when the fan kicks on running a larger load, it is noticeable but not too loud.

Bought this expecting a low wattage pure sinewave to run some small but important electronics off grid via a 12v battery. This unit does not produce a pure sinewave as advertised. Tested with an oscilloscope while the unit was under load it produced a modified wave. It will run simple induction motors or small resistive heaters just fine. I sure as heck would not trust this scam to charge your phone or run anything important with intergrated ciricuts.
