I cannot rate this for ball joint removal/install, however I bought this for Ujoint removal and for that this tool served its purpose. I will say the ujoint was just installed about a year ago so by no means was it rusted or really jammed in the yolk so a whole lot of force was not needed to get it pressed out or the replacement pressed back in. This tool was worth every penny though as I didn't want to remove the entire two piece driveshaft and the old socket or c clamp method is pain under the truck with the shaft still in place. I will note that the press/clamp has some strange discoloration which you can clearly see in the picture. Almost as if it was burned. That concerned me a little as other reviews shown this tool cracking under pressure. But again luckily I didn't need much force and it held together just fine. ... show more

I finally got to use this tool. I just installed new front struts and upper ball joints in a 91 miata. The tool held up so that's a good thing. The C clamp is a bit on the rough side as it kept flaking tiny bits of metal. Specially the bottom ring since it is not machined flat. Well the two inside flats, lower and upper. This caused a bit of a headache trying to line things up. I got the ball joints out, but they were coming out crooked and the install was similar. It was no fun, but patience did it. I should also note that the underside of the upper ball joint is not flat either. So this made it extra hard. I also could not push out the ball joint with the installer/remover piece since it would not push that all the way out since it's too short. Hence the 24 mm socket which I also manage to get stuck, but eventually got it backed out and all was still fine. ... show more

There was no receiver to fit the top body of the ball joint 2005 Liberty 4wd - either too big or too small. Also, the ball joint press jackscrew was too long to use a ratchet socket wrench or drill. I used a tie rod end and ball joint separator from a 5-piece kit. The jackscrew end piece of that tool broke. Got the passenger side done, but driver side ball joint is halfway pressed. ... show more

Works OK. Metal and coatings not as hard or durable as professional grade tools. Completely satisfied at the price. Large easy to read sticker inside case says "Do Not Use Impact Wrench." However, multiple illustrations in the instruction pamphlet shows so many illustrations with an impact wrench attached to the tool that I was expecting to find one in the case somewhere. I used an impact tool without problem. One needs to know when and how to use an impact wrench. In the wrong hands an impact wrench can destroy almost anything. ... show more
