The original reason I chose this particular sealer over others was the price and that it had the option to also use a hose attachment for jars and resealable bags. The hose component never worked. I reached out to Dash and to be honest, they have been very communicative provided support and trouble shooting. They also sent me a replacement unit. Unfortunately, the replacement unit’s hose also did not work. For about two months, the main component worked on both, but within the past two weeks both seem to no longer work. They will pull all the air out of the bag however it will not stop in order to seal the bags. I have to manually stop the suction and press the seal button, but during that it allows air into the bag and I’m not sure how safe the product is in the bag after that. I appreciate how much they have attempted to help me with getting the product to work however, I would not recommend purchasing this sealer. I own many product from Dash and have never had a problem. Again, as a company they’ve been very great. But I did let them know that I need to move on from attempting to use this because it’s just causing frustration and that I would be posting an honest review. Even if it did work properly, be aware you do have to press pretty hard in order to close the lid over the bag and in order to open you need to have some significant strength in your fingers to press the buttons to open it. The bag slicer on the back falls off very easily and makes cutting the bags difficult as well. To be fair, even if everything had worked properly, I probably would have given this three stars based on the difficulty to use it. ... show more

Got some nice steaks to sous vide after vacuum sealing. Unbox this product and read the instructions, seems simple enough. No trouble getting the bags prepared using the flimsy cutter provided. Sealer works fine but as soon as I try to vacuum the bags there's no suction at all. I read through and follow all troubleshooting steps with no luck. Attempt to call customer support but they only operate 9-5 eastern time. I was about to ask for a replacement through Amazon but I figured I'd just unscrew and open the thing up to see of there was anything obviously wrong, and sure enough they didn't even connect the rubber hose to the hole that sucks air out from the inserted bags. After connecting the hose and closing it back up it works fine. Buyer beware - it seems others also have issues with their products not working. If you're willing to risk the high chance of getting a lemon, go for it. Otherwise I'd recommend picking a more reliable brand. ... show more

My husband says im cheap i say i just dont like to waste anything. I never throw away food, its just doesnt make any sense to me, so i store i pack i freeze i cook. Throwing away food is the same if i got some bills from my wallet and put it in the dumpster. I use typically ziplock bags for items, especially when i cook in large slow cooker but dont have a really good way to store the means. I buy in bulk and i just used it on the chicken and i must say what an awesome way to store it. Never had a sealer before so i did have fun with it. I just threw mine in the trash 2 days ago. I bought it only 3 months ago. After only a month one of the led lights died on it but it kept sealing so i stupidly ignored that red flag. It did a few weird things about a month later and finally died completely a few day ago. I would highly recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting a more heavy duty unit than this. I just gone one in yesterday that is leagues ahead of this unit. Firstly the method of closing this thing feels like you are going to break it. You have to push hard on it until you hear a click that sounds like something just broke. My new one has a lever and it is easy to close and feels like it is getting a good seal. Second this thing is hard to clean. The seal is made of a foam rubber that absorbs any liquids. So once you have gotten some fish juices in there, it is going to stink forever. No matter how much you clean it. That brings me to my next point. The "wet" food option, is useless. It is going to suck a portion of anything with some moisture out of the bag into the unit. That then brings me to my next point of sealing. If you get any moisture sucked up into the sealing area of the bag, it obviously is harder to seal. I had a number of failed seals on this thing then i switched to operating it manually and not using any of the "auto" buttons". This is also kind of difficult to start and stop the machine precisely. Unlike my new unit that has a "pulse" button, so you can very carefully vacuum out the air without getting moisture in the seal area. The heating element on my new machine is about 3 times thicker than the one on this "dash" machine. All in all, I spent an extra 30 bucks and got a machine that had better features and it is 100 percent worth it so far. Especially since the Dash machine is now waiting on the curb for the garbage truck. ... show more

This food vacuum sealer is really nice and pretty easy to use. It supports both one-time-use bags and reusable bags. It comes with a small roll of single use bags and a few reusable bags. The sealer itself is pretty small and connecting everything and sealing took me a bit of learning, but once I did it a few times I was able to just breeze through it each time.
