I installed this about 5 weeks ago and it's working excellent so far. The hardest part of the installation was fussing to get the wires tucked in behind the door panel trim. It comes with a tool, it's just a tedious step. I installed both the front and rear cameras but you can do just the front. There is the option of recording both audio and video. Mine is set to video only - not sure if this saves recording space. To view the footage, I removed the front camera (disconnect the cords and slide it off the stand - no need to remove the camera holder). It comes with a USB cable that connected directly to my computer which had no problem recognizing the files or playing the video clips. It opens with two folders - front camera and rear camera. Each folder has several 3-minute video clips. They're named with the date and time (be sure to set the date and time when you install it so you can find videos later!) I wanted to check out some footage but I drove for an hour afterwards. I was worried it had been overwritten from the loop recording mechanism. But it was there - about midway through the list of available files, nowhere near being overwritten. I didn't make any changes to the USB. If you're worried about how long it will hold on to recordings, I recommend just getting it and testing it out before deciding what to do. By the way - the quality of the videos is great! Cons - I can't properly install my sun visor now because the camera is in the way :/ And the screen on the camera itself is too tiny to be of use. It's good for setting up and making sure it's recording the area you want, then it's better to just let it go black so it's not a distraction anyway.

Love the dashcam, saved me in an accident a couple weeks ago. It’s really easy to install, and the camera quality is good. The suction cup never fell yet so it’s really good, and at night it still works great. I have to empty out the memory card every other week, and it connects really easy to my Mac so over it’s really good

This is a budget priced dash cam with front and rear cameras. I got this dash cam after getting hit by another car, and the other driver denied the responsibility. The first unit that I received did not function properly, I hope that is just a single case. The replacement unit seems fine except for the rear camera. The power cable and rear camera cable are quite long, 12 ft and 18 ft respectively. The front unit can be easily placed on the windshield. The installation of the rear camera requires a bit of work due to the camera placement and the hiding of the cable. The front camera video quality is good during the daytime. The nighttime video is not very clear. The recordings from the rear camera were laggy and blurry initially. And then for no reason, they just became normal after a few days. I am searching online to check whether the rear camera is defective. The dash cam operation is quite simple, once installed, it turns itself on and off with the car. The parking monitor may be useful if the recording duration can be increased to longer. The issues that I have with the rear camera: 1. The video recordings sometimes are very laggy. 2. When the videos are good, it is still not very well-focused. 3. The field of view is not wide enough. I have tried placing the camera at different heights using masking tape, but I can’t get a wide enough shot. This dash cam is okay for the price range. If your budget is limited like mine, I will suggest getting it for basic protection.

Camera was bought AFTER a no witness motor vehicle accident. Was wrecked into and had no witness. I was not at fault but having this could have made it absolutely clear that the other driver was at fault. Keep in mind that the screen is VERY small so being able to see what the camera sees is not feasible. Your not gonna be able to use this as a back up camera. Screen is WAY too small for that. So don't buy it thinking your gonna be able to drive down the road and look at the screen seeing how it's recording. The screen does turn off while recording, I assume to keep the driver from being distracted. This is not a continuous video recording camera. It "loop" records in increments of 1, 3 or 5 minutes. You can lock the recording manually or the camera is equipped with a shock sensor that locks when it detects if vehicle has been in accident. I would like the camera to lock and continue to record PAST the 5 minute mark because you may need it to record the after math of the accident. So far I like this purchase. There are others more expensive but this has been far the most affordable eye witness you can buy in case of accident. Camera also has motion detection to start recording as well. I like it, will buy another for my other car.... Update 2-24-23... I took out the micro SD card and put in my computer to view video the camera has recorded. I REALLY REALLY am pleased with this purchase now. The device comes with front and rear cameras. Both cameras record independently and you don't see a picture in picture type of video. Each camera records in full frame aspect ratio. Very clear picture and audio is audible. When opening files on micro SD it's divided into 2 folders. I founder for front camera video and another folder for rear video. As I mentioned earlier the video does loop record. However the micro SD card stores each 5 minute video and puts them in chronological order so you do in fact have continous recording but it's broken up in 5 minute video. This is again the perfect eye witness of an unfortunate accident or heck how many of us have experienced someone tailgating us or driving reckless? The video records what you see. I wish there was a way to record turn signal indicators, brake and speed. That would show an absolute complete picture of the driver's actions. Still a VERY good camera foe the price.
