This is a great dashcam I am giving 5 stars for easy install, upgrade to direct connection to fuse box was my option, it does not drawn battery, the only flaw I got is that I never found the application to download in my device, if anyone replies to me with the link will be appreciated as this is a great dashcam and no looking to replace it. Unit died after a couple of months. Update: I disassembled the camera and found that the internal battery is swollen. This is great if you want this POS camera to burn down your vehicle, garage, and maybe even your house and family.

Eventually the battery gave out. I took it out and it still works like I needed to but it was definitely disappointing. Everything else is amazing though Great value great size it records very well has a great field of view and you're able to take photos when you need them. I purchased 2 of these. One for each car. Both cars are 2017 Chevy Cruze, one though, is the hatchback version. Camera placement is NOTHING like the example in the manual or videos. It pretty much has to be placed about 1/5inch above the Dash and about 3 inches to the right side of the Security flashing light on the dash. This position will actually have it showing the cars in front of you just over the hood. If you try to place it anywhere else (other than low and centered) the camera will be pointing other directions, including the skyward, as well as have some odd angle of recording that is not level. One of the 2 cameras, the screen does not stay on more than 1m6s, the timer on screen starts over every 1m. The other the screen stays on constantly but even though Im on a smooth road, the device constantly flashes the Collision Alert. Though both of these devices are the SAME, one of the chargers has 3 holes, on the charger top, in the center with blue lights in 2 of them. While the other has 3 holes on both sides of the charger top, with red lights coming out of only 2 of the 3 holes on one side. I was looking for a Questions area to find out if either of the 2 devices is working correctly and which one it is, but the only thing I could find was the review area. So, my take on this device is that between the 2, I have 1 that functions 50% correctly, maybe. Both turn off shortly after turning off the car. And come on right after starting the car. There is no internal battery. In order to keep them on for Parking Collision and recording, you will need a battery kit. Thoughts on this make me wonder if a USB battery storage cannot be placed between the Camera and the charger connector. I may end up returning both of these unless the seller can identify and enlighten my on what I may have done wrong between the 2 cameras. Ill give it another week and then return them. ... show more

Update! So have had this for a little while now and absolutely love it!!!! I wish there was a bigger SD card that came with it but I can buy one. It is small enough not to distract you while driving. Definitely need to pick better placement for the back camera because the sun glare is bad straight on. Besides that, I totally recommend it to anyone. I am buying three more so my daughters and husband can have one in each of their vehicles. Easy to install and works great so far. Love that I can see both front and back camera views! Have had it for a few days now. Will be checking to see the footage after another few days ... show more
