This camera works great for my new driver. There is the option to record continuously OR have crash detection only. I would recommend having the camera continuously rolling. The power supply is quite bulky for the vehicle it is in and I'm hoping to swap for a flat USB-C to USB-A in the future. Installation was easy enough for my teen to do over the course of an hour or so. You can place the rear camera on the window or do a harder install on the exterior rear (bumper or license plate) if needed. ... show more

This is a great dashcam I am giving 5 stars for easy install, upgrade to direct connection to fuse box was my option, it does not drawn battery, the only flaw I got is that I never found the application to download in my device, if anyone replies to me with the link will be appreciated as this is a great dashcam and no looking to replace it. If you want a dash cam that record when you are driving, DONT BUY THIS. I got this cam only to find out that it doesn’t record UNLESS there is a “crash detected” and basically that just means it will record a minute of footage EVERY TIME u hit a pothole or when the road is just slightly bumpy… I just witnessed an awful accident and thought I had it on camera only to see that it didn’t even record?!?? Footage quality is ok but the buttons and navigation is awful. It’s a dual camera is front and back BUT it’s all connected by cable into the power outlet and looks so ugly!!! IT IS NOT DISCREET AT ALL. I’m so embarrassed to drive my friends because they have to navigate though the wires when they want to take a seat. ALSOOO!! The wire for the back camera can detach so you might not even be recording the rear. Don’t buy this. Save your money for a camera that will actually protect you ... show more

This is a case of you get what you pay for. It’s not the best quality but it’s pretty good! The video is usually clear (even at night). The settings can get a little tricky. I’ve never had a connection issues with the app.

I really don't understand how anyone could give this dashcam system a 5-star review. It's just an ordinary dashcam system with serious flaws. PROBLEMS: There are no instructions for installing the rear camera. So, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos for other dashcams until I found one similar to this one. Then I was able to install the rear camera. I also emailed tech support on my Sunday afternoon; after 2 hours, I haven't heard back (not surprising because they're probably sleeping in China). The rear camera shows an upside-down image, which means I installed the rear camera upside down, but that's the only way it could be done on my car. The system has a reverse-image function, but that flips the image horizontally, leaving it still upside-down. The Wi-fi is flaky. The whole system shuts down and starts up again during file downloads to my phone while I'm sitting in the driver's seat. Thus, file downloads via Wi-fi don't work. I'll have to try a USB cable instead. The video display is not bright in the daytime. Using the system's built-in Wi-fi to connect my phone, which has a bright display, makes it easier to see video clips. Video playback in the optional VeeCar app is choppy and fuzzy. It looks like it's maybe 5 frames per second. License plates are unreadable; you can't even tell there might be letters and numbers on a license plate. But if you download a video to watch on another phone app or another computer, the quality is much better. GOOD STUFF: The dashcam system turns on and off automatically when I turn the car on and off, so I don't have to think about recording. That's reliable. Videos are reliably recorded -- front and rear. Sound can be recorded. A 32-GB storage card is included and pre-installed even though the User Guide says you have to install a storage card. The 12-volt car adapter includes a spare USB-A port for charging other small devices, like my phone. [Pre-installation] The system recorded collision videos when I quickly moved the front camera. Collision videos are not overwritten when the system overwrites old files with current files. I don't yet know how many seconds before and after the collision are recorded in collision files. But this is a great feature. I like the guzheng music (similar to harp) that plays when the system turns on (which happens when I turn the car on). The music also plays but stops part way through the music track when I turn the car off. HOW I MOUNTED THE REAR CAMERA: I turned on the dashcam system so I could use the display to help me find the best position for the rear camera on my rear window. Then, I cleaned the part of my car's plastic window frame where I intended to mount the camera. Next, I pre-drilled two holes through the camera mounting bracket and into the plastic surface below my car's rear window. Then, I stuck one of the two included bracket-shaped plush stickers over the pre-drilled holes. The sticker has two holes that align with my pre-drilled holes. I screwed the mounting bracket firmly onto the sticker. The screws went through the sticker and the pre-drilled holes and hold the bracket firmly in place. Then, I adjusted the hinge that allows the camera to point higher or lower until the camera pointed straight out the rear window. Finally, I tightened the hinge screws, and the camera is now firmly attacked to the car. ... show more
