I only say I’m pretty sure it works because I haven’t got in a crash so I’ve had no need to look at the footage but it seems like it’s doing its job! Instructions are clear but a little confusing, but that’s okay because ofc they have customer service and such. It takes a bit to set up, but that’s also not a super complicated process. Has great quality at night and day with some pretty cool functions like telling you when you need to turn on your lights so the camera can see or taking photos/emergency videos. The only thing I don’t like about it is the stupid long charging cord and the fact that it doesn’t turn on and off with my car (I have to manually turn it off or it’ll just run even with my car off- waste of footage and battery (then again, this could also just be user error and I could be completely wrong)). ... show more

I have not needed to use the videos for anything other than checking their quality and the quality seems fine. Good enough to see a license plate from a few car length ahead of you. The field of view is good and covers plenty of area in the front. It claims 170-degrees but I think that is a bit of a stretch. It certainly seems good enough to catch all the cars at a four-way stop and that is good enough for my needs. The price was reasonable, the image quality appears good enough for its intended purpose and the size is small enough to fit most places without obstruction or drawing attention to your vehicle. ... show more

    • MUST HAVE!
I purchased this dash cam on 12/29/21, today is 2/11/24 - I am writing this review 3 years later because 1. I partially forgot about reviewing it & 2. I wanted to really give it time to settle. WELL, 3 years later: FIVE STARS STILL. I literally have zero complaints about this camera. For someone who isn’t too tech savvy, and needed something basic because I got into an accident and it was a major headache proving I wasn’t at fault, I needed something that could just capture what I needed it to and save it for review when/if needed. This camera has saved my ass twice in the the past three years I’ve had it. It’s footage has won an arbitration insurance claim. It is really easy and straight forward to maneuver, you almost forget it’s there until you need it. The suction is still sticking perfectly fine, I’ve not needed to replace it. The memory card is also great, I haven’t needed to delete footage and I grab what I need right away off it when I need anyways. I’m purchasing the same for my partner for Valentine’s Day as a gift for his new Mercedes. I would HIGHLY recommend. The only reason I’m thinking of upgrading is because it does not run when the car isn’t in motion. Although it says it does, my car was side swept on the street a year ago and it didn’t capture that moment (luckily there were plenty witnesses and I was able to get that fixed without being listed at fault). Maybe I just haven’t learned the function but I went through every setting in that camera, even turned on the motion sensor feature and it still didn’t capture it or any other time I tested it with the vehicle not in motion or off completely.     • Will go bad within 5 months
Went through 4 of them, I should have learned quicker. I would get 3 - 5 months out of them. 20 minute - 120 minute daily usage. Spend the extra money and get something more reliable - this one is junk.

I like it a lot. I’ve had it for a few months now and haven’t had any issues yet. Picture quality is good, navigating the menu is tricky but easy to figure out UPDATE: almost 2 years after having this camera I finally think I can put it to good use after I get into a small accident with a red light runner, however the camera DID NOT RECORD THE IMPACT.... it recorded for exactly 3 mins just before it happened but it cuts off about 2 SECONDS before the accident occurred. It didn't record anything else until we got the police report done and I got back in my car. My car was still running for about 5 minutes after pulling over and when the man admitted fault directly to me, camera should've recorded it, but it didn't. I'm so upset because the guy is now trying to blame me for this. All I have to defend myself is about a 2 second shot of me approaching a GREEN LIGHT and a blur of his car starting to cross the intersection with a red light, then it stops, insurance company will almost definitely try to say it's not valid evidence as you can't make out the color of the vehicle. Checked the SD card on my computer and a lot of the files (old and new ones) are corrupted, tried recovering and repairing the files for hours and nothing... This really sucks. Hopefully I can get street camera footage from the police ... show more

    • Good day camera, but not so good for night
Good enough daylight camera, but at night time the video is not that clear. Camera gets blinded with glare from oncoming traffic head lights. If you're driving behind someone the license plate is barely readable at night.

    • Great value dashcam
For the $20 I spent on this, I think everyone that drives should have one. It gives me a sense of security that some bad driver with a good lawyer can't ruin my finances. It's also nice to be able to show off the weird stuff that happens on my daily commute. It might not have the best features, the best picture, or the best low light vision, but for the price it's surprisingly good. Really the only thing I have a problem with is the headlight warning- it took me a while to find out where the sound was coming from, but when driving at night every 30 seconds or so I'd hear a weird quiet grunt of a beep. It was the headlight warning going off, even though I had my headlights on. I just live out between some cornfields and forests so it gets extremely dark even with headlights. ... show more

    • For the money is worth it
Easy to set up and place on windshield. However the power plug is cigarette lighter style, I have a Lexus which the power sources are in the cubby between the seats and the cord is to short and difficult to hide. Asked the company what type of cord is used so I could get a longer one and they responded "UBS cord". duh, there's all kinds of thoses. Think I got the right type from another vendor. They really need to post the type ,length and information about power cords. ... show more
