Very well made and easy to install. Has threaded pipe hole at end and on one side so it will install regardless of the direction of the source gas line. Comes with a threaded plug to insert into the hole not being used.

Works very well for me. Gets my dense oak wood burning in a few minutes, then I can turn off the gas. The air mixing port results in blue flame. Mounted with gas holes toward side to reduce ash clogging. Should have mounted the air port pointing to side rather than up, where it can clog with ashes. Will adjust at some point. Like the flexibility of the two optional connecting ports. Hope to be able buy a replacement pipe rather than the whole unit when the pipe gives out. Oak gives very hot long lasting coals. But so far holding up well. ... show more

If you have LP Gas and a fire pit you need this its fantastic. I placed one in our new fire pit I put a fireplace log grate over top and presto your fire will be roaring without burning paper or kindling. What is also nice is you can pick up the intensity of the burn if the fire starts to die down. Using less wood and timing your fire a little better as the evening rolls on. I wouldn't have a fire place or a fire pit without one. Make sure you install it with the flame holes facing down. This way you wont get water inside it. ... show more

Installed in an outdoor fireplace. Super easy to change the fitting from straight to a 90 degree. It's only been installed for a few days. Tested very well and looks quite durable, but I can't speak to how well it will hold up yet. Seems like a great product

What can I say. It passes gas and makes fire starting easy. I put a new one on about every two years. Only improvement I would recommend is to get a piece of steel pipe and cut it so that it will fit at right angles over the threaded end of the pipe to keep ash from falling in the air mixture hole. See the photo. I made a cardboard template and a welding shop made this for me out of a piece of scrap pipe for about $10. ... show more

I ordered 2 of these LP log starters, one worked great, the other did not work at all. Upon investigation the pin hole that lets the gas flow from the mixer to the flame tube had not been drilled in one of the mixer bodies. Therefore I am giving 3 stars. Without having the second one to compare to this could have been hard to spot, you should be able to see a pin hole of light through the mixer when help to to a light with the flame tube and end screw plug removed. . ... show more
