I purchased this product because the clerk at my local pet store (big box brand) told me that "test strips" are unreliable. The best water tester was a master test kit. Meanwhile he tested my aquarium water using a test strip....Hmmm. Needless to say, this product has proven effective and accurate for me. The Alkaline in my aquarium was off, and after doing a correction to the water and retesting, the test strip once again proved to be accurate. I will continue to use this product.

Recently purchased because I switched water and my fish had gotten sick with the help of these strips I was able to balance back out the ph in water level andnow I test any water that I use to put into my tank.

I measured my faucet water, refrigerator filter water and pond water and they all read the same. I hate to give a negative review, but I can’t imagine that they were working as they’re supposed to.

I have well water with a lot of iron, so I wanted to start testing how well my RO/DI unit is doing at removing iron and other minerals. I tested water (1) straight from the well; (2) out of water that had been treated by our water softener; and finally, (3) freshly treated out of my RO/DI unit (which is a 5 stage with a resin finishing stage). My assumption was that the readings would start high with the direct well water and improve with each filtration of water. HOWEVER, all three 3 strips gave me the EXACT same readings-- zero FE, zero Copper, perfect nitrate and nitrite, and alkalinity, carbonate and pH all in the recommended ranges. The color chart is also a bit confusing to read-- the alkalinity, carbonate and pH scales are in 2 rows each so they don't line up with the test strip. You have to get the readings for the first tests, then move the strip up and down for each of the last 3 test comparisons, one by one. It's not mentioned in the instructions and took a while to figure that out. So pretty much a waste of my money :-(

For the best accurate water testing, you want a whole kit. But those are kind of pricy. So these will due in a pinch.
