  • Fit Great and Work Well
My wife never learned to ride a bike as a kid. We recently bought a used bike and picked these up so she could give it a try. These brackets are extremely well made and high quality. I had very little problem fitting them to her bike except that I needed to make sure they didn't get in the way of pedaling or the brake cable (which wasn't difficult to manage). I installed them pretty easily with just a rachet set and they've held together great and allowed my wife to experience bicycling. They do make the bike slightly heavier but my wife or I still have no problem lifting the bike out of the truck bed. They don't rattle at all like the training wheels I remember as a kid- they fit securely to the frame. There are a few drawbacks to this set up: 1. They make the bike wider which may make biking on smaller trails impossible with two way traffic. I've thought about adding flags to the posts so other bikers would be more likely to notice the extended width but we've not done any trail biking so it hasn't been necessary. 2. Turning is going to feel really weird for anyone used to leaning into turns (someone who doesn't actually need these) because you can barely lean. This makes turns much wider which you have to account for. Altogether, we're very happy with this purchase and my wife has loved being able to bike for the first time. ... show more

  • Only wheels that I could find that work with electric bicycles.
The positives: - Very Heavy Duty. The components are not light weight like the other Training wheels I have tried. - Work on my wife's electric bike. After trying many different training wheels, I found that these are the only ones that don't mount to the rear axle. With electric bikes, they have a wire coming out of the axle that don't allow you to mount other wheels. - Very well made. The parts are all quality. They even though of caps to cover the screw threads so you don't injure yourself. - Good instructions. It was fairly easy to put together and the instructions where easy to follow The negatives: - Price. These are EXPENSIVE when it comes to Training Wheels, but when others don't work and you want a quality product, these are it. - Width the training wheels stick out quite a bit. They are very stable, but does cause issues in tight spaces. ... show more

  • Great training wheels -- worked mounted ~2 inches from the ground for me
I really like these training wheels. I got them for added stability after losing my balance a couple of times and falling with my bike. I'm in my 70s and my sense of balance isn't as good as it once was. These training wheels give me confidence to keep on biking for exercise and to do some shopping with my bike too. They are sturdy and well made. IMPORTANT! For riders like me who already know how to balance on a bike, have the training wheels set above the ground -- about 2 inches NOT flush with the ground. I had mine installed by a bike shop and the technician set them very low -- about 1/2 " from the ground. This is way too low and dangerous for me. See the attached diagram. With the wheels flush with the ground, riding on a cambered street (higher in the middle), the bike travels hard to the right, and you have to lean way out to the left to get the bike to travel in a straight line. By raising them about 2 inches above the ground, they work as expected. You can steer straight on a slanted street but the wheels will still catch you if you lose your balance and start to tip. I found that I had to get used to a different way of starting, and cornering of course is different, but I really enjoy the stability and confidence I've gained from using these wheels. Addendum 9/1/2022: I tried lowering the wheels to 1" but had the same problems steering. The 2" height is right for me because I know how to balance on a bike and just want the wheels for safety in case I start to fall. A person who is just learning to ride a bike on a flat surface may need them set lower. ... show more

  • They work as advertised!
My nine-year-old daughter put off learning how to ride a bike until recently. Due to her height, she required a bike with twenty-four-inch tires. This meant the only types of bikes available for purchase were multi-speed bikes. Regular training wheels would not work because the gear mechanism on the back tire would get in the way. They also do not make regular training wheels for bikes with twenty-four-inch tires. I came across this product and was initially shell-shocked at the high price, but unfortunately, there was nothing else available that would meet our daughter's needs. Installation was straightforward with the diagrammed directions. It was apparent to me that this product was quality built. The stabilizers are now on my daughter's bike and provide her with the reassurance she needs. I am very pleased with my purchase. ... show more

  • Make bike impossible to ride
I bought these because I have a medical issue that affects my equilibrium. I put them on my bike and they made the bike even more unstable. When I tried to pedal the bike almost tipped over and I was close to falling off and hitting the concrete.

  • Did work for my bike and leg condition.
They did not work on my 10 speed. I so wanted to be able to use my 2 wheeler again after serious leg injury and balance issues with stop and start. They may be great for someone else.
