  • Be Sure to Download the Free Software
Size: 900VA LCD
As an experienced technology person, I found it very difficult to set this thing up using only the "mode" button on the top of the unit. Luckily, everything I needed to do to configure the system I could do using the free software fromthe CyberPower website. This software is easy to install and use. (The instruction manual does *not* mention this!) Also after the 8-hour initial charge, I just plugged my devices into the UPS. The darn thing would not stop beeping!!! Then I turned it off, unplugged it for a few minutes, then plugged it back in. The beeping stopped. Then I read the instructions again--you're supposed to plug in your devices and then plug the UPS into the outlet. This was a little frustrating because the UPS was already plugged in for the 8-hour initial charge. It seemed natural to just plug my devices into the UPS while it was plugged in. I should have unplugged and turned it off first, plugged in my stuff, connected the UPS to the power outlet, and then turned it on. So far the unit seems to be working well and I'm pleased with the software. We'll see what happens if we have a prolonged power outage! Fingers crossed. FYI: I have a large tower with an 18" monitor. The system tells me they are using 72 watts and that the UPS will keep them running for 62 minutes. I have the unit set to shut the system down when there is only 5 minutes of battery left. ... show more

  • Decent battery life for two machines and monitors. Decent battery life for two machines and monitors.
Size: 900VA LCD
I bought this for my main computer, which is a very capable machine with 3 disk drives and a 32 inch monitor, and for my laptop with a 28" monitor. I work from home using both machines. With both machines plugged in, and both monitors, I am at about 175 - 200 watts, and have between 18 to 20 minutes of battery life, per the monitoring application. I have my router and other internet support equipment on a separate battery backup. I am using this to bridge the gap between when the power goes out and the backup generator comes on, or to safely shut down if the generator does not come on. It is overkill, but I tend to work on large files that are easily corrupted, which can take a while to restore. I believe that you could easily get over 30 minutes with this if you had a single computer and monitor, as long as they were both fairly new. Older monitors (CRT type) could be a lot more load. Also, my previous 8 year old computer with multiple drives used twice the power, so an older machine would shorten the time. Overall I like the hardware and the application. The application can be downloaded on their website. It has a lot of features that I really do not need, such as scheduling power downs and such. I just use it to see what the backup time is. Assuming that this hold up, I would recommend it for someone wanting to have enough time to shut down safely, or to bridge a gap before a backup generator kicks in. ... show more

  • A sense of security restored!!
Size: 900VA LCD
This was a replacement for a similar but much older product from the same manufacturer that had failed (the back-up battery was OK, but the product electronics went bad). Installation of this replacement product was easy - just a simple swap-out. Well, that never seems simple when reconnecting and resetting all the attached components, but the added sense of security and reliability along with the updated features of this newer product are well worth it. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
Size: 900VA LCD
Works great! It supplies power to my NAS, modem, computer and all perifrials. I live on an island with only 1 set of power lines coming in. We have outages all the time. This has not let me down with way more time than needed to properly shut down 100TB on the Nas without data loss.

  • Does what it says it will do
Size: 900VA LCD
Unit is fine I would have given it a 4.5 but I don't have that choice. It's gone through some pretty significant usage meaning in our home energy setup we have a generator that kicks on from the solar and when that happens there's a interruption in the power supply which screws up electronics so we use this device to buffer against surge and the cycling of the power. It works perfectly well with no issues. The only reason I would ding it by 0.5 Stars is cuz I haven't used it long enough over time so I can't tell wear and tear yet. ... show more

  • DEAD ON ARRIVAL (CyberPower AVRG900LCD Intelligent LCD UPS System)
Size: 900VA LCD
July 13, 2021 Update Great tech support experience... I contacted CyberPower tech support thru their website and got a quick response via email. Thinking it may be a faulty battery, tech support suggested sending a replacement battery. Fortunately, I had a multi-meter and hooked it up to the battery. The 12V battery read 12.62 volts. I also had a fully charged (reading 13.37V) 12V replacement battery for a CP825AVRLCD that I put into the AVRG900LCD... and the AVRG900LCD still didn't work. Also put the AVRG900LCD battery into the CP825AVRLCD and the CP825AVRLCD worked fine. I passed this information along to tech support and they immediately emailed me a prepaid UPS label for returning the AVRG900LCD. After 2 weeks (during the 4th of July holidays!), I received an email that my new AVRG900LCD was being shipped via UPS; and I received it in a couple days. Original June 2020 Review I bought the CyberPower AVRG900LCD back in Sept. 2020, from Amazon, and just recently (June 2020) pulled it out of the box. Per the label instructions, the UPS was charged 8 hours before first use (actually about 24 hours). But when pressing the On button (for 2 seconds per label) it only does 1 of 4 things... 1) it makes a weird short "rrrrrrnnnn" sound, 2) gives a long beep, 3) gives a long beep followed by 2 OR 3 short beeps, or 4) doesn't make a sound/does nothing. After pressing the power button and with any of the AVRG900LCD's above responses, there is no display. I tried plugging in an appliance and got no power from the surge+battery sockets. It did provide power from a surge (only) socket (but whether it is actually providing surge protection is questionable). I submitted the problem to CyberPower’s tech support website and will adjust this review based on their assistance. ... show more

This is my second UPS of this brand. I am happy with the quality of the product and its performance. Plenty of outlets. Note that some are surge protected and some are not.

  • Great power backup for my NAS and router
Size: 900VA LCD
I bought this UPS to protect my new Synology NAS, and also the internet router and an Abode security/smart home hub. Today I had the first outage since getting the unit. It worked exactly as expected, keeping my internet and WiFi up, and cleanly shutting down the NAS after 10 minutes of no power. I really like that the unit is low-profile and fits in the small space under the couch where I need it. Highly recommended. ... show more
