Sits very flat, well designed to take a lot of weight. Made a massive thing of Chilli for example and it could handle the weight. Also if you have a VERY LEVEL cooking surface (use a level) the product sits very level and you can be rest assured no pot will slide off it. Cooking tip, leave the lid on for most cooking and use less water in your cooking. It'll retain heat better. Also keep in mind you can use a larger pot then what fits just be VERY MINDFUL to keep it in the direct middle so it won't tip over etc. The bigger the pot/wider the pot, that is the more it exceeds in length past the actual device the more it may hit the knob dial so be mindful of that. I love it. I've made everything on it that I would on a typical burner. Just please use caution and monitor your cooking, don't leave it unattended especially when your not in a kitchen. Be mindful if something overflows and your in say a bedroom be aware of mess_electrical/fire things. I'd clear out a designated area so it's safe etc and then you don't have to worry. ... show more

We were stuck with this as our stove during an 8-month kitchen renovation. Temp control is "iffy" but worked fine, we didn't use it a ton but it saw plenty of use and worked fine every time.

Got this for our shop. It does take a little bit to boil water, longer than a stove top. But overall was great for a way to cook or heat something up in our shop. Did not take up much room on the countertop.

    • Heats slow but cooks good

Takes about 7 or 8 minutes to get hot and start cooking anything and if you lower the temp very low it seems to stop cooking but if you can find the midrange temp it cooks good
