The brackets were so sturdy. There was a screw to adjust distance from the wall on the bracket to hold the rod and a screw to tighten so the rod stayed in place and did not move. There were several pieces of rod that screwed together which made it strong. My previous collapsed inside the other piece and were not strong. This rod was far more superior. There was a section at the end of the rod that extended for more length which made it so easy to get the proper length. I would, if needed, order these again for another window. And come on, the price was right!! But beware. I ordered the wrong color because the black looked like the bronze one in the picture and did not realize I had clicked on the wrong one. So when returning I had to pay shipping because I do not have a UPS store near me, only a drop off station which does not accept a CR code, they need a shipping label of which I had to spend $7 to get one from Amazon.

I had not seen curtain rods quite like this before. They come in several short sections that thread into one another. So the metal is thin, like a household broom handle. I was surprised to find that the sections thread securely together with little to no play once tightened! It's a pretty efficient design. They come with sections that slide over the end to allow final adjustment to the exactly length you need, as you would expect. The finials on these are exquisite! They are large and detailed, almost globose. They are perfectly what I was looking for - elegant & stately, but refined. The threads are the same as those for other finials for similar sized rods (I like that compatibility option - even if I don't need it). The brackets for the rods are simple (not ornate at all), but strong and adequate to hold the rod, but also adjustable in and out to get just the right distance from the wall! They include a set screw at the top to tighten the rod to prevent it from lifting off or moving while operating the curtains. This is a really great set, much better than what you might typically find at the store. Strong, attractive and adjustable, and at a huge bargain!
