The Culligan RC-EZ-3 EZ-Change Level 3 replacement filter cartridge will clean drinking water to reduce particulates class I, chloride, cyst, turbidity and lindane, atrazine, lead, and bad taste/odor. The filter is easy to install with a twist-on/off mechanism and quick connect fittings that help avoid the mess of changing traditional cartridges with buckets, towels, wrenches, and other tools. Installation hardware and tubing is included with this drinking water filter cartridge. This filter replacement from Culligan can be installed in EZ-Change systems under the sink in the refrigerator for drinking water and your ice maker. The filter arrived with a removable protective plastic cover. Although our water here in B-town meets acceptable standards, I decided to up our filter game with this purchase. We used the entry level filter provided with the Model US-EZ unit for a year. It worked well, but I thought why not try the next level filter up. Installation tip: your new filter may feel like it’s completely turned into the locked position, but check that the lock icon is positioned opposite the filter arrow. Otherwise, nothing comes out of the faucet. Once given a final small twist to line up the arrow with the lock icon, all was well. Once flushed as instructed, the water tasted great right out of the box. Little or no decrease in water flow was detected with my home’s near 50 year old plumbing. Although I would prefer a lesser expensive replacement every 6 months, I decided the protection/filtering was worth it. ... show more

I have been using the Culligan Easy-Change water filtration cartridges for the drinking water dispenser on my kitchen sink for several years and have generally been very pleased. The filter change could not be easier ... after shutting off the cold water supply, it's simply a quarter turn counter-clockwise on the old cartridge to unseat it and then a quarter turn clockwise on the new one to secure it in place. The removal of old filter and installation of new one takes no more than 3 minutes to complete. After installing the new cartridge, the water flow was much better than the old one (poor water flow was actually what prompted me to replace it). I ran a test with the new cartridge and found the water flowing at a rate of 50 seconds per gallon. My only complaint is that the last couple of filters have only lasted about 5 months before the water flow was too slow for me to bear. The filter is rated for 500 gallons or 6 months, whichever comes first. Based on my family of four's use of the filtered water, I doubt we hit the 500 gallon mark over the 5 months that I used the last filter. I called Culligan after the previous filter only lasted about 4 months and they suggested the shortened lifespan could be due to an increased use of fluoride in the town water (- said higher levels of fluoride can shorten life of filter). I suppose this is possible, but it is still a bit disappointing that the filters are not lasting as long as they used to. - A couple years ago, I was using each filter for at least 9 months without any issue, although technically I realize this is longer than the manufacturer's suggested use. I do find that the water filtered through the Culligan is far better tasting that the unfiltered water. All in all, I think this is a great product! ... show more

Anybody who knows about the Culligan filter systems knows just how great they really are. The RC-EZ-3 is a great filter, removing most of the more common contaminants and chemicals from the water; resulting in nice, pure, fresh, sweet tasting drinking water and crystal clear pure ice cubes. We even use it for ALL of the water we give to our cat (family member). We wouldn't be without it (and we live beneath the poverty level, so that's just how important -- and cost efficient -- this water filter really is). If you don't have one, I would absolutely HIGHLY recommend getting one. It's only pennies per gallon to assure you that you aren't ingesting contaminants, chemicals and parasites! ... show more
