I didn't have any problem with these cartridges and was able to drink the first batch of water through the earliest filters I bought without detecting any bad taste. The water came through tasting exactly like the water which I've put through other popular filters on the market, like Brita and Pur. However, I later received a package of filters that produced water that was somewhat sour-tasting until after about the 5th or 6th batch of water. When I opened that package, I saw right away that some of the black, grainy filter material had leaked out of the filter into the packaging. So, I think something was faulty about the way that the filter material was loaded into that package of filters since this occurred with 2 out of the 3 filters in the package. The price of these Culligan PR-3 Level 2 Filter cartridges is reasonable, so I'm glad to have found this resource for filters. At this point the problem with bad-tasting water was not extreme enough to put me off, and I will continue to order the Culligan filters to use in my Culligan water-filter pitcher until some point when I experience too extreme a problem with bad-tasting water, or continual packages in which some of the filter grains have spilled out of the plastic filter cartridge. ... show more

This pitcher hits all the right spots when it comes to providing the best quality drinking water. It is the ideal size for a mini fridge, and holds enough water to last me all day in a college dorm environment. Two things surprised me about this item: the quality of the design, and the level of taste improvement of the drinking water. The pitcher is a sturdy little thing that has this giant handle. I would assume that from reading reviews of other water pitchers, Culligan made sure to design a handle that could "handle" the stress of a full pitcher without cracking. So far, I feel assured that this pitcher is built to last. On the latter, and more important issue, the taste improvement of my water is fantastic. Campus water tastes absolutely terrible, but this filter completely removes ALL TASTE and every glass leaves me smiling. The only reason that kept me from giving this product 5 stars was fill time. This product filters water so well that I couldn't taste anything in my water, but the amount of time it takes to fill the pitcher through the filter is an inconvenience. One fill of the filter chamber(?) takes about 3-4 minutes to completely go through. Also, the pitcher takes at least two filter chamber fills to fill up. Overall, this is a solid purchase. I couldn't find a better price at any of the local stores, and with amazon prime delivery, I received the item in 3 days. ... show more

Be sure to read the description properly.. says it only lists 2 months. Others say 3 months. The is the pr-3 filter which is compatible with the pit-1 filter jug. Its a good product better than having to buy bottled water every week.

Arrived promptly. Rinsed off the filter as there was a small amount of charcoal dust. Ran first pitcher through the filter - no residue in water from the filter and tap water tastes so much better. I use this at work. Filters at a steady pace, water tastes better and staff mostly stopped buying bottled water to make coffee. The small size is leaner and fits well in our smaller fridge. The lid can be a little wobbly, but that doesn't bug me all that much. I fill my tea cup, refill the reservoir, warm my water in the microwave, and once it is warmed, refill the reservoir once more (while my staff is brilliant, "someone" hasn't figured out how to refill it after they make an entire pot of coffee or refill their water bottle, leaving it mostly empty . . . But that is a "people problem" and the pitcher can hardly be blamed for their lack of consideration). ... show more

I bought these pitchers because I was boiling water for drinking and that became a hassle for me I did use the faucet filters in the past but they were too low and we kept hitting them with dishes etc. So I decided to get these pitchers .. I found these were better priced than the Brita.... I keep them full every day and I drink a lot of water esp now in the hot days! So far the water has tasted great.. Used about a week so far... You have to follow directions though and make sure you keep the filter wet at all times ( that means make sure you keep the pitcher filled ) or you may be adding refill filters more than needed.... I bought 3 (because of the good price) and keep 2 of them filled all the time... Saved one for spare ... Bought replacement filters right away also! ... show more
