Additionally, most Culligan filters reduce the presence of illness-causing, waterborne parasites, like Giardia and Cryptosporidium, helping you stay healthy when you hydrate. Culligan filters have an activated carbon cartridge that absorbs the carbon- based VOCs (volatile organic compounds) as they pass through the filter, resulting in better water. Culligan filters provide a compatible refrigerator fit that’s easy to install and replace every 6 months. Culligan filters are certified by IAPMO R&T against NSF/ANSI 42, 53, and 401 for the reduction of claims specified in the performance data sheet. While I wish filters overall cost a bit less, this filter seems to be a fair price and performs the best. So certainly the best bang for the buck. I've tried other filters and brands, but this does the best of them all for my Whirlpool fridge. It improved the taste of my water removing whatever was there before. It tastes nearly as good as RO/bottled water if not better in some cases. Obviously water quality depends on your source and location, so your mileage may vary. As a side note, it fixed my ice maker PSI and it started making ice consistently. Which I suppose speaks to the quality of the filter as well. It filters well while not terribly restricting water flow. I'll be buying more in the future. If it goes on sale, I'm stocking up. ... show more

I really like the Culligan reverse osmosis water, and my mother had an under-the-sink filter in her kitchen that worked really well, so when I saw they made a replacement for the Whirlpool Everydrop Filter 1 (EDR1RXD1) that was less expensive than the Everydrop, I got it. I got it several months before my last filter expired. Turns out it did not work, and water dripped out of the filter enclosure. I re-inserted it but it continued to leak, so I had to order the Whirlpool Everydrop Filter. Unfortunately, since I had it so long before installing it, I went beyond the warranty period and I'm out the money. I would NOT recommend this filter to anyone using the Everydrop Filter 1. Too bad since Culligan is otherwise a great company! ... show more

these work but you have to cut or grind off about 1/8 inch from the little peg that sticks out and prevents the filter from fully sealing into the fridge. so if your water doesn't flow, or you get the awful studdering sound, just grind down the peg or cut off a bit, until the filter works right. ALL the chinese replacements are doing this now on my ten year old Whirlpool fridge. ... show more
