This is the one kitchen item I didn't think I needed until I found some uses that work. I use this powerful torch for crisping meats, lighting my grill and browning when an oven is overkill. The torch provides plenty of concentrated heat through fire. This is not a toy and should be used by an adult. I find more uses and keep this handy. It is also able to be re-fueled with Butane from your local hardware store. Oh, is just so quick and easy to use and does a beautiful job. I love using the tiny torch to Browm meat after cooking, keeps meat from cooking longer and drying out. Gives hotdogs grilled look after boiling, or heating in micro. Browns egg whites on pies with more control. Wonderful for browning top of Shepard pie, and cheese topping on casseroles. I love creme brûlée and make a lemon meringue cheesecake for special occasions. This was an affordable, compact option for occasional torching. So much easier, quicker, and more consistent than using the broiler/making my husband get his huge work torch out for my dessert making. I ordered several of these torches, and 1 or 2 had problems right out of the box. The second one wasn't opened until last week; ONE YEAR AFTER I ORDERED IT! I contacted customer service again, and AGAIN they sent me a replacement. After a year! It does not get any better than that for a company to stand behind their items.
