I was convinced that there was no toaster out there that could actually toast with any sort of consistency. Pinch me, this one does. I cannot believe how awesome this thing is at producing evenly toasted bread and bagels. On top of that, it looks great and is so easy to use. Gone are those dials that are so hard to see that you dont know what setting its on. Pop in your toast and the settings light up - press the desired toast level and you're off. As the toaster does its thing, the level settings blink to count down how much time is left. We can also make sure we are not over-toasting by lifting the toast up to check progress. We use level 5, and the toast/bagels come out perfectly. I will say that the bagel setting does nothing as it still toasts both side so I am not sure if it is broken or just useless. To be honest, we really dont care because of how well this device performs. We have NEVER so much as liked a toaster much less loved one. We LOVE this one. ... show more

Might seem weird to be so obsessed with a toaster but this thing is seriously amazing! My toddler melted a credit card in our first one so I used a back up and life was miserable so I bit the bullet and bought this one again. Worth every penny! Toasts perfectly, touch sensor buttons are nice to use, small footprint and looks great. I love how the minutes count down so you know how much time is left. We returned our initial toaster but I’m embarrassed to say we neglected to remove an opaque label that covered the illuminated functions. The pull tab was very hard to see. I wanted a low-profile , 2 slice toaster with wide slot bagel setting. This toaster fits the bill - it is easy to use, takes little counter space and does a nice job with even toasting. You can set your desired toast preference through a touch screen setting from 1 to 6 and can see the count down and even add an extra 30 seconds if desired. It also has a 1-slice option and a defrost option. It is easy to clean, providing a slide out crumb tray. The bagel setting works well, toasting only one side of the bagel, with the bagel icon showing how to place the bagel slices such that the "cut" sides are facing the "toasting" grill. The icons illuminate when you press the "power" button, and then go dark after several minutes of non-use. I waited over one month of daily use before writing this review to ensure no issues showed up.     • It can't even toast bread

Absolutely useless toaster, unless you enjoy being surprised every time you use it. Bread is never toasted uniformly and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how darkly it will be toasted. Sometimes it's burned, even on a "light" setting. Or you may need to re-toast your bread several times if you like it dark. (Funny, it never seems to burn the bread on a "dark" setting.) The "bagel" setting doesn't work at all, since both sides are always toasted (or burned). All I wanted was a simple, inexpensive toaster that could make toast. This thing can't do that. Shame on you, Cuisinart. Your name no longer means anything, other than JUNK. ... show more
