We have offered my parents in law this toaster because we have used the same for 10 years everyday and it still works perfectly. Made of stainless steel, it is aesthetic and functional. Once can grill 1 tartine for 4 or 2 for 2 people at the same time. Toasting acuracy is exact, thanks to 2 knobs settings (heat level). One has the possibility to opt between reheating and toasting, but also between toast and bagel. Another option exists if one wants to unfreeze a slice of bread. I love the taste of my morning toast. This is the best toaster I have ever purchased. I have always owned the basic two slice one setting toaster and never really gave it much thought. Then my husband decided he wanted to update our appliances and talked me into this toaster. I will admit, I was apprehensive. Let’s be honest, it’s a toaster, it just toasts. I was wondering why we would ever spend more than ten dollars on something that just toasts but I relented and the toaster was purchased. It arrived in great packaging and undamaged. I took it out of the box and was instantly in love. The toaster looks so adorably retro and the symmetry of the handles and levers on both sides of the dual toaster is very nice. It is a very sleek stainless steel with black accents. The toaster not only has different number settings for the level of browning you want but it also has four settings; bagel, defrost, reheat, and cancel. Since buying this toaster, I have started purchasing dessert breads (in an amount that I’m too embarrased to mention) and freezing the excess when they are discounted. Whenever I feel the desire to have a sweet treat, I grab the bread out of the freezer and use the reheat setting. I swear to you, it tastes just as good from frozen as it does fresh. Another feature I love about this toaster is that it has separate crumb trays for each side of the toaster. I don’t know why I like that, but the thought that the company went that extra little step is just a nice touch. Overall, though I initially resisted, I absolutely love this toaster. Pros: Absolutely gorgeous toaster Does four slices at once Consistent toasting to the edges of my bread Positive lock feeling when toaster levers are pressed down Feels very solidly built other than the knobs Cons: Fingerprints oil show very easily but that's probably expected really not a big deal. Chrome trays are removed from behind the toaster rather than the front. There's a lot of jiggling in the knobs but they can be turned just fine. Warranty registration process could be somewhat confusing and a little bit irritating Recommendations: Run it for two cycles on the highest setting outdoors in a safe place under supervision before using it indoors to get rid of the strong chemical smells from first use. The product provides an option to take a picture of the warranty registration information and they allow you to text it however that simply creates a link for you to finish the registration information. When asked for the model number, the numbers and letters you're supposed to enter are not the ones that are on the slip that you photograph. The model number is provided on the outside of the manufacturer's box. The warranty registration page looks like a sign up for promotional and advertising interests rather than warranty registration so read and handle that page carefully. I really don't like the loose play of the knobs. Pushing the knob gently towards the unit while turning will give you a much needed increase in friction. And this is the primary reason I gave this four stars instead of five coupled with the fact that the breadcrumb trays have to be removed from the back. Additionally the bagel defrost reheat and cancel buttons have to be pressed with a slight amount of force but when I press them in my case it forces the toaster to be moved back ever so slightly and mine is not completely level. Otherwise probably the best and most gorgeous toaster I've ever run in my life and I'm looking forward to many years using it. If it holds up I would say it's worth every penny. ... show more
